He who trusts in his
riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like foliage. (Proverbs 11:28
NKJV)
It's a pop-up alert not
to put our trust in the material things of the world. They are temporal,
fleeting and unreliable. They come and go at the wrong timing. They are not
around when direly needed.
Rather, we put our trust
in The Lord who is the source of everything, as the righteous does. Let's trust
in the giver, not the gift. His provisions do not run out. He provides us
richly with material things as tools to be a blessing, useful for investment in
the physical for spiritual returns. Apostle Paul urged us with these words: "As
for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set
their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us
with everything to enjoy. They are to do good things under grace, to be rich in
good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for
themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of
that which is truly life. (1Timothy 6:17-19 ESV)
And I say ... AMEN!
