When God says...
"Surely, in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird; But they lie in wait for their own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives. So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners." (Proverbs 1:17-19 NKJV)
He shows, as a bird flies into a net and is caught, so will the sinner get caught if he goes head long into sin. The sinner knows the net is there, but get into it anyway. But for the bird, it would be ineffective to set up a net for catching it in its full view. Hence, the sinner, as he want others to languish with him, he sets up his trap for the innocent in secret. But, in the end the trap is sprung back on him (v.19). As he is greedy, his greed entraps him. It drives stupid sinners rush to their own ruin. A person lying in wait to kill someone else is actually sealing their own doom. Greed for things that do not belong to you is certainly the cause of most sins toward your fellow man.
It is written - "But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction." (1 Timothy 6:9 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!
