Proverbs 14:27 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.” (Proverbs 14:27 NKJV)
He alludes to a chilling scenario of how it would be without the spring of living water that gives us life. The fountain of life is the place where we must be settled, in order to live and not die. Not just to live, but to flourish and be fruitful. We are to hide in that secret place of the Most High (Psalms 91:1 NKJV) - in the sanctuary of His love.
We are to come to Jesus, He is the fountain of life! At the well, during a conversation with the Samaritan woman: "Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14 NIV)
As believers in Jesus Christ, being born again from the flesh to the spirit, we are set in that constant reverent fear of The Lord, by His grace. Fear from being separated from Him who is the author of life. He provides His sustaining breathe of life. He disabled the snares of death. He gave His life to give us life. In His resurrection, from death and its sting of sin, we are slaves no more, as it is written: "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:54-57 NIV)

Proverbs 14:26 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.” (Proverbs 14:26 NKJV)
He is affirming to us that if we allow His supreme sovereignty over us, we will have the blessed assurance of total security and provision. Peace prevails, even in a state of chaos, all types of adversities and tests handed to us, knowing that we are in a place of refuge of His mighty presence.
Those who fear the Lord run away from temptation, exemplified in the life of Joseph, who was able to resist and escape from the clutches of his master Potipar’s wife. She pursued Joseph daily saying: “Come to bed with me.” Which he persistently refused: “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” But, one day, she caught him by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house. Accused falsely by his master’s wife, he was put in prison. But while Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden (Genesis 39).
Yes, in His grace by faith in Christ Jesus, we are made recipients of His kindness and favors. He is our fortress, as the Psalmist declares: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2 ESV)

Proverbs 14:25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A true witness delivers souls, But a deceitful witness speaks lies.”(Proverbs 14:25 NKJV)
He warns us of the opposing forces at play in this world we are temporarily camping in. The spirit of lies, that comes from its father the devil, goes around with deceptions and tricks putting the innocents in bondage. It aims to bring disorder in our homes, in our workplaces, in our businesses, in our communities and in our world. As witness of lies, he speaks to confuse and hold the careless captives.
But, thanks to the Spirit of truth who comes from God. He proclaims liberty to the captives (Luke 4:18). As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, by His grace, our souls are delivered. Doors are opened for us to be the witness of truth, in our homes, in our workplaces, in our businesses, in our communities and in our world. Yes, He opens doors for us that no one can shut and shuts doors no one can open (Revelations 3:7). Having accepted Jesus our Lord and Savior, we welcome Him into our hearts and there He resides. In Him, we know the truth and we can stand as witness of truth to deliver souls from captivity.

As we hold on to the teaching of the gospel of grace and truth in Christ Jesus (John 1:17), we are set free, as it is written: "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31, 32 NIV)

Proverbs 14:24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says…
“The crown of the wise is their riches, But the foolishness of fools is folly.”(Proverbs 14:24 NKJV)
He declares both a promise and affirmation that riches are prominent ornaments upon those who are wise. By wisdom, material wealth is made blessings for those who seek God and rest in His grace by faith in Christ Jesus. It moves and prospers in their households and in their businesses. It touches many lives for God's glory. Riches in the hands of the wise are complete. It flows, not stagnant. It impacts not just his temporal dwelling, but also his eternal home in heaven.

It touches many lives for God's glory. Riches in the hands of the wise are complete. It flows, not stagnant. It impacts not just his temporal dwelling, but also his eternal home in heaven.
Blessings and riches are exhibits of righteous authority by those who live wisely. In their hands, material blessings are transformed into spiritual wealth deposited in the bank of heaven. In the beatitudes, Lord Jesus exhorts: “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Mathew 6:20 NIV)
While fools, on the other hand, carry the ultimate expression of foolishness in his folly. When he gets access to material wealth he uses it to fuel his foolish projects. He scams and schemes to extort worldly resources for his ventures of trickeries and traps. Fools have no hint beyond his worldly view. If he stubbornly keeps his course, he is headed to fall. This world is his only best glimpse of heaven. While for the wise, this world is his only worst glimpse of hell. As it is written, through the Psalmist the Word of God warns: "This is the path of those who have foolish confidence; yet after them people approve of their boasts. Selah, like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; death shall be their shepherd, and the upright shall rule over them in the morning. Their form shall be consumed in Sheol, with no place to dwell. Proverbs 14:23 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty.” (Proverbs 14:23 NKJV)
He affirms all our labors will not be wasted. It will always produce fruits. We should not just sit and chatter, which lead only to tattered couch. There is action in faith needed to be done. It is a triad cooperation with the seed, the ground and us, under God's grace. We, as active agent of planting, are to sow seeds both physical and spiritual (the Word of God), in the ground and in the hearts of men and women. Efforts consecrated to God lead to blessings. "... for in due season, we will reap, if we will not give up. (Galatians 6:9a NIV).
Yes, the quality of the ground (the condition of our heart) may affect our harvest. But, it has nothing to do with the seed and our labor. The seed is good-it is of God, and our labor is not in vain-it is a labor of rest in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, by faith in Him. The quality of the ground? We should have it soaked with the the Word of God. And, let's not get tired, as Apostle Paul urges us with these words: "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. "(1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)

Proverbs 14:22 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Do they not go astray who devise evil? But mercy and truth belong to those who devise good.” (Proverbs 14:22 NKJV)
He asks us with a rhetorical question - Yes, where are those who devise evil? And, yes we know evil does not pay. Or, if ever it does - they always end up taking the brunt of the bad things they concoct. They mimic their father the devil, who comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. In so doing, they take the ride bound for their own ruin. They steal and end up in want. They scheme to destroy and end up flat on their faces. Their father the devil was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur (Revelation 20:10)
As children of God, we are to devise only good. God is good. Our heavenly Father is holy. We are to walk in holiness by grace though faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our reaction to evil schemes is as Lord Jesus commanded at the sermon of the mount. And, He proclaimed: "You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.” (Matthew 5:38-42 ESV)
If we do this in love, to bless and be in peace, Apostle Paul exhorts us, as it is written- "On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” (Romans 12:20 NIV)

BLESSED THANKSGIVING!
It is a blessed and joyful thanksgiving indeed! We made it through another year of struggle. The Lord is true to His promise, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
As the world, now we are in, is becoming more and more spiritually darkened and desolate, it is with a grateful heart that we declare our gratitude in this Day of Thanks Giving! To Him who blessed and strengthened us in the middle of it all, we give Him honor and glory!
In our Lord Jesus Christ, by His grace through faith in Him, we have this promise, as King David declared:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."(Psalms 23:1-6 KJV)
Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Proverbs 14:20-21 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The poor man is hated even by his own neighbor, But the rich has many friends. He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.” (Proverbs 14:20, 21 NKJV)
He states the plain sad reality, in this world social standing is measured on position and possessions. Many, if not all, want to be friends and neighbors with the affluent and the moneyed. Some hate to be neighbors with the lowly and the unprivileged. They hate to dwell amongst the poor. They flock with the wealthy like ants - riding on their coattails. But, when the money runs dry, they all fly away. Like what happened to the prodigal son. During the days of his partying as funding was abundant, his friends were many. When the money was gone, so did his party buddies. No one gave him anything! The Scriptures say:” After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.” (Luke 15:14-16 NIV)
This reminds us not to measure the standard of our living with the world. Rather, let's abide by the ways of God's word, in His grace. As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, if we do surrender to His Lordship, we are citizens of heaven. And, we are instructed to take care of the poor when He said: "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily, I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Matthew 25:40 KJV)
We are to love our neighbors rich and poor to fulfill His royal law and leave this world victorious. It is written: "If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. (James 2:8 ESV)
Loving them is not by way of handouts to the poor, nor subservience to the whims of the rich. Loving them is as Lord Jesus has commanded: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19, 20 NIV)

Proverbs 14:17,19 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of wicked intentions is hated. The evil will bow before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.” (Proverbs 14:17, 19 NKJV)
He warns us about the dangers of unchecked temper. We are all susceptible to this, being endowed with the ability to feel. We have emotions that can run up or down, if we fail to reign over our thermostat, and allow it to be driven by the circumstance and environment we are in. We are made aware, it is foolish. Untamed emotion carries dire consequences. Many landed in jail or worse lost lives prematurely for split-second out-burst of temper. Worst of all, heavenly inheritance could be lost due to emotions unconsecrated to God.
We are all work-in-progress. We have to keep laying-down at the foot of the cross of our Lord those wild tantrums. Those are corruptible by evil intentions. It is a handy engine of ruin for the enemy to hitch-a-ride on. We must always in the know, God loves the wise who - seeks Him, but hates the fool - he who rejects God. He makes the sinner serve at the gates of the righteous - he who pleases God by resting in grace through faith in Christ Jesus. It is written: "For to the person who pleases Him God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who pleases God. This too is vanity and chasing after the wind.” (Ecclesiastes 2:26 AMP)

Proverbs 14:16,18 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident. The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.” (Proverbs 14:16, 18 NKJV)
He gives another, contrasting features between the wise and the fool. When a man stumbles upon the camp of the wicked and out of his holy fear to be separated from the presence of God departs from it quickly - he is wise. He neither lingers nor peeks on it. Out of his wise character he knows the cost of dancing around the devil's campfire, which is a trap. His eternal life is at stake. His crown of knowledge empowers him to reign over his destiny to dwell in the house of The Lord forever.
While a fool rages in his arrogance and rebellion, he plunges straight down the torrents of foolhardiness. As he inherits folly, he suffers from his afflictions until he comes to his senses and calls upon The Lord. Yes, he still has hope. His only hope is to snap out of madness, cry before God and receive the Lordship of Jesus. It is written: "Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (Psalm 107:17-19 ESV)

Proverbs 14:15 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The simple believes every word, But the prudent considers well his steps.” (Proverbs 14:15 NKJV)
We are subtly instructed to protect our daily walk in life. We are to ensure our steps are ordered by The Lord and directed always in the right path. We are to take the attitude of a prudent man who walks with open eyes guided by the Spirit of The Lord through His holy and written Word. His Word is vital to keep us in the way to life. Hence, we are to handle each and every word with godly wisdom. We are to filter the words we hear by the Word of God. The simple, who believes every noise he hears, puts his life on the track of destruction - this passage reveals.
We are in a treacherous world of instant messaging, with information coming our way from myriad of sources. They may sound wise and good, but of no value to our spiritual life - here and eternity. We can't take it all like a simple man. We are to act wisely like the Bereans, who themselves, check with the scriptures the message they hear even from Paul and Silas, God's chosen messengers. It is written: "As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:10-11 NIV)
We are not to believe every message we hear, unless it is the truth from God's Words. The scriptures gave us this warning - "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1 ESV)
As children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, likened to sheep grazing through the fields of this world, Lord Jesus instructs us with these words: “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” (Matthew 10:16 ESV)

Proverbs 14:14 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, But a good man will be satisfied from above.” (Proverbs 14:14 NKJV)
He puts us in the know who a backslider is. He is a person who knew God and His goodness. He's been given the knowledge of God's ways and will. But, he continues to follow his own ways, rejecting God's promptings. He is like the man who falls down a cliff, ends up hanging holding on to a tree-branch. He calls God for help. When God answered and told him to release the branch. He still continues to cry, HEEELPPP!!!
A backslider is so demanding both from God and from people around him to meet his wants according to his wishes. He bosses them around and agitates them. He uses arm twisting, on those who he can get hold, to do his whims as he sees fits to his desire. He is panicky, impatient and restless. He doesn't listen. He doesn't wait on God. He expects to be served at the flick of his finger. He won't give up his cares to God, even at knowing that God is in the best vantage view to see and provide what's best for him. He doesn't follow what God says. He holds on to his tree-branch!
He is an exact contrast from the good man, who also knows God, but unlike the backslider, he relies fully for his help to come from above. Not from his own or anywhere else. When he surrenders his cares to God, he doesn't take it back. He stops, looks up, listens up and rests to allow God to work on his behalf. Not according to his wish, but according to God's will. He recognizes that surely God have ways different, but better than what he perceives. A good man of God just simply, but humbly comes to Jesus and fully surrenders to Him.
Yes, when we truly come to Jesus, rest in His grace by faith, like the good man, He gives us this promise: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]" (Matthew 11:28 AMP)
When we take over from God, like a backslider, matters we are not designed to handle, we struggle. We are to learn how to be still and be at rest. Give God space to work on our issues. Let the silt of our troubles settle down. Then we will witness in the supernatural work of God to perfect those that concerns us. Let's listen to the psalmist when he declares: 'He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; .” (Psalm 46:10a NIV)

Proverbs 14:13 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Even in laughter the heart may sorrow, And the end of mirth may be grief.” (Proverbs 14:13 NKJV)
He reminds us that the joy the world offers is incomplete and brief. It rides on the wave of emotions. The laughter of the world just masks inner turmoil. Underneath the facade of false smile and rehearsed celebration is a raging war of confusion in the mind and trouble in the heart. Yes, in the world there is no fullness of joy, except in the presence of God. The psalmist declares: "You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11 AMP).
Lord Jesus warns us of tribulation in the world. But, He also assures us that in Him, by grace through faith in Him, we have peace. Yes, even in Covid imprisonment, in Christ we have liberty. His presence is our source of comfort. We have to have Jesus dwell in us, as the Father is in Him. He said: "Listen to me; a time is coming when you will be scattered, each to your own home. That time is now here. You will leave me alone, but I am never really alone, because the Father is with me. “I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world.” (John 16:32, 33 NCV)

Proverbs 14:12 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV)
He gives us a ringer that 'wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.' (1 Corinthians 3:19). Yes, there may seem GOOD ideas that our human mind concoct, but if those are not borne out of God's revelation that may be a hindrance for God's BEST for us. GOOD is BEST'S WORST obstacle. It keeps us shackled in mediocrity.
The one secure system is always - seek God and His wisdom, through grace by faith in Christ Jesus. He knows the end from the beginning. He has the best for us in His mind - to be partakers with the heroes and heroines of faith. So, better follow His way through His holy and written Word. It is written: “Because God had us in mind, and had something better and greater in view for us, so that they [these heroes and heroines of faith] should not come to perfection apart from us [before we could join them].” (Hebrews 11:40 AMP)

Proverbs 14:11 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The house of the wicked will be overthrown, But the tent of the upright will flourish.”(Proverbs 14:11 NKJV)
He gives us a pop up alert! The direction of ill-intentioned un-Godly living is going down. It starts in a semblance of hype, but ends up with a crash in the gutter. It buds, but then it withers from its roots. It's like a tree that bears no good fruit. It is cut down and thrown into the fire. (Mathew 7:19)).
But, the life of the upright, whose trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ, though begins in humble beginnings - it grows and thrives with much fruits. He lives in total dependence upon his One and Only Provider - his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. He lives totally dependent on the grace of Christ Jesus by faith in Him. He lives in his flimsy-looking tent like Abraham, but anchored on God's overwhelming grace. The trajectory of his life is established upward. In contrast to the self-exalting arrogance of the wicked, in his humility God raises him up, as Lord Jesus declared: "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12 ESV)

“The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share its joy.” (Proverbs 14:10 NKJV)
He reminds us that the heart is the core of a person's being. No one knows the most private emotions of a person other than God, except the heart. No one can fully grasp the extent of its bitterness or joy, deeper than what is expressed outwardly in physical body language - in anger, in tears, in celebration and in laughter. The more so between persons, only an established intimate relationship enables access to each's deepest emotions.

The heart is the depository of a person's resources for living. In life, "the matter of the heart is always the heart of the matter." Hence, we are warned – “Keep your heart with all diligence. For, out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV)
We are to be careful what we allow to enter and settle in our hearts. Lord Jesus cautions us with these words: ”He went on: “It’s what comes out of a person that pollutes: obscenities, lusts, thefts, murders, adulteries, greed, depravity, deceptive dealings, carousing, mean looks, slander, arrogance, foolishness—all these are vomit from the heart. There is the source of your pollution.” (Mark 7:20-23 MSG)
As children of God saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, let us establish our hearts in the environment of God's holy Word to fill it in, as the psalmist declares: "I have hidden your word in my heart, That, I might not sin against you." (Psalms 119:11 NLT)

Proverbs 14:9 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Fools mock at sin, But among the upright there is favor.” (Proverbs 14:9 NKJV)
He is warning those cavorting with sinful habits to stop the foolery before becoming a callous natural fool. By then, such a fool will just smirk when corrected of his sin. For him, sin becomes an accepted norm resulting from constant exposure to it. Like what's happening in our society today. Due to continuous barrage of immoral entertainments in movies (and the likes), along with negative and morally bankrupt media reporting which celebrates degenerate lifestyles - sinful acts, behaviors and relationships that were once taboo and abominable to social standards, are now accepted as "normal" by many.
That goes true too with each and every person's private life. Repetitive sinning takes a fool to a point of just mocking and teasing about the sin he commits. He turns his world upside down. He calls evil good and good evil. He puts darkness for light and light for darkness. He behaves with conceit and egocentricity. He is remorseless in doing so. But, it’s only for a fleeting moment. Sin is fatal. It can cost the fool timeless vacation in hell. His day of reckoning will come. Unless, he comes to his senses and turns around to come to Jesus with a humble heart.
But, the righteous and the upright, who by faith in Jesus - abide in the Lord's grace, will rejoice in his Father’s Kingdom. As it is written, Lord Jesus said: "And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!" (Matthew 13:42, 43 NLT)

Proverbs 14:8 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, But the folly of fools is deceit. "(Proverbs 14:8 NKJV)He gives insight on how a person who cares about his future navigates his way in the world. With Godly wisdom, the prudent considers his route with due diligence. He is to have awareness that he is in the same world (as an alien) where fools are at work with their follies. Yes, the enemy of our soul uses the fools to deceive with worldly enticements and to confuse the hearts of men. His intention is to deprive the careless of a thriving life and snap him out of eternal life.
As the redeemed of The Lord, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ to possess eternal life. By His holy and written Word, we must embrace godly wisdom like the prudent man and be purposeful in every step we take. Lord Jesus gives us these instructions: “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For, it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36 NIV)

Proverbs 14:7 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"Go from the presence of a foolish man, When you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge." (Proverbs 14:7 NKJV)
We are instructed to disengage swiftly from the presence of fools. When they start celebrating wickedness and debasing righteousness, that's your cue. The Message Bible paraphrase says: "Escape quickly from the company of fools; they’re a waste of your time, a waste of your words." (Proverbs 14:7 MSG)
We gain nothing out of any involvement with fools. Only risk of losing sight of what is right. We are to stay clear from their path. They pose great danger to our life, specially our spiritual well-being. They reject God's wisdom and glorify that which they should be ashamed of. To them, it's like a sport! (Proverbs 10:23a). They scoff, scorn and mock anything godly, and embrace that which is abominable to God. We ought not sit in their seat. (Psalm 1:1).
They are stubborn in totally rejecting God, His word and His ways. “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”.. (Psalm 14:1a ESV).
Yes, the ways of fools are toxic and hazard to our soul. As children of God by grace through faith in Jesus - that is having an intimate relationship with our Savior, we are to reject the way of foolishness and choose the way of wisdom. Navigating the world in such a time we are in, Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words: "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. "(Ephesians 5:15, 16 NKJV)

Proverbs 14:6 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands." (Proverbs 14:6 NKJV)
This should drive us to hone in and know that the key to knowledge and to wisdom is humility to understand. Unless a scoffer turns around, humbly opens his heart to be in a teachable posture, for him - wisdom, knowledge and understanding will forever be hidden treasures lost in the sands of time. He will hunt but never finds. He will be rapping his derisive and mocking songs to his disastrous fall.
But, he who gets hold of the key, humbles and cracks wide open his heart, leans his ears to the teachings of the life-giving Word of the only One who gives life, will certainly find wisdom, knowledge and understanding. He will know that by accepting Jesus his Lord and Savior, he is saved by grace. He sings his praise to the Lord all his life and to everlasting life, as the psalmist declares: "I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praises to my God as long as I live. May my thoughts please him; I am happy in the Lord. Let sinners be destroyed from the earth, and let the wicked live no longer. My whole being, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." Proverbs 14:5 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A faithful witness does not lie, But a false witness will utter lies.” (Proverbs 14:5 NKJV)
He brings to remembrance the 9th Commandment, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." (Exodus 20:16 ESV) Sadly, lies have now become the norms of the world. We hear fake news every time and every where. Even in the halls of justice where honesty and truth used to be hallmarks of judgment, perjurious alibi is commonly used as legal tool. We see guilty criminals getting away. While innocents are meted with unjust punishments for crimes they did not commit, losing their productive lives and costing taxpayers' money. Well, what can you expect to come out from a place where God is barred and evicted?
The father of lies is in the world, seeking for willing preys. So, we ought to be watchful, falsehood and lies have its payday on the day of reckoning. When a person chooses to walk in falsehood, he spurns the light of God and hides in the cover of darkness. He allows the forces of darkness to lead him with falsities direct to slaughter and destruction. The scripture warns, as it is written: "But cowards, those who refuse to believe, who do evil things, who kill, who sin sexually, who do evil magic, who worship idols, and who tell lies—all these will have a place in the lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8 NCV)
We are to behave like a faithful child of God should, as we are, when by grace we rest in the Lordship of Christ Jesus. Well, that is of course when we receive the Lord Jesus Christ in our life by faith in a personal intimate relationship, not religion. We are to stand witness to and in truth, as Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words: "But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator." (Colossians 3:8-10 ESV)
So, as the Psalmist declares, I pray O Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Savior. “Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” (Psalm 25:5 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 14:4 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Where no oxen are, the trough is clean; But much increase comes by the strength of an ox.” (Proverbs 14:4 NKJV)
He gives a subtle reminder on the importance of investing in proper resources to produce and to prosper. God provides us the tools. We are to consecrate it all to Him, maintain it, and steward it well.
In whatever areas of calling, ministry and trade God has positioned us, He equips us. We are to harness and use it. As in the analogy of a farmer, we are to assemble all the needed engine of production to cultivate the land. We are to sustain, strengthen and keep the oxen in good working condition. The feeder of our livestock must not be empty, but filled to keep them healthy and strong productive assets. Without them the farm is barren and wasted. The Message Bible paraphrase says: "No cattle, no crops; a good harvest requires a strong ox for the plow. (Proverbs 14:4 MSG)
The state and content of our barn and treasury, both in the physical and spiritual, reflect the condition of our workforce, our commitment, our diligence and the quality of resources we put in to till and sow our field. The larger land we plow and the more seeds we sow, the more crops we yield at the harvest. As it is written: "The point is this: "whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. (2 Corinthians 9:6 ESV)

Proverbs 14:3 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, But the lips of the wise will preserve them." (Proverbs 14:3 NKJV)
He gives us another identifying mark of a fool and of a wise person. The arrogant mouth of a fool spits out words like 'rods' aimed to destroy. But the lips of the wise proclaim words of affirmation to bless, to build, to preserve and to prosper. News flash! ... each one will give an accounting on the day of judgment for every empty word they speak!
As believers in Christ by grace through faith, our marks are not of fools but of the wise. The utterance of our mouth should be that which impacts the direction of our life and the lives of those around us, as we move from where we are to the place where God wants us to be.

Lord Jesus empowers and warns us as He proclaims these words of truth: “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:33-37 NIV)

Proverbs 14:2 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, But he who is perverse in his ways despises Him." (Proverbs 14:2 NKJV)
We are made aware - walking in integrity is the seal of godliness and reverent awe of God. While perversity, is an insult on the face of Him the Creator of heaven and earth, who made us in His image.
He who stubbornly walks rebellious against the precepts of God is headed for destruction. As he opposes God, he is like a blind striding into the abyss. Unless he stops, humbles, repents and turns to Jesus, he plunges to death. The option and decision lie in his hands to come and receive the Lordship of Jesus. Yes, he who fears The Lord and walks uprightly is one who is totally surrendered to Him and abiding under the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Not bound by religion, but by personal intimate relationship with our Savior. Only then, he is saved from eternal death.
When we accept the Lord in our hearts and be in awe of Him -knowing we are His beloved (Romans 8:38-39), He is our righteousness, as it is written: "It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Proverbs 14:1 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands." (Proverbs 14:1 NKJV)
He gives us an imagery of how family building and home making should be done - the importance of wisdom for the woman to be in tandem with her husband in transforming a house into a home. As foolishness can tear a house down instead of building up, it must be spurned.
A woman full of godly wisdom adorns her house with a family blessed in joy, love and peace. Her presence establishes a place where hopes and dreams are nurtured by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Her house is strong to withstand against stormy intrusions of the cares of the world. She builds and edifies her house to be transformed into home - a holy temple of God's presence.
Yes, being like a wise builder who hears and does the Word of The Lord, wise women are those who belong to the household of God. Jesus is the cornerstone upon whom they build their homes. Apostle Paul exhorts all wise wives (and husbands) with these words: "So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord." (Ephesians 2:19-21 ESV)

Proverbs 13:25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want." (Proverbs 13:25 NKJV)
He assures that those who are in right standing with God, by trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, are fully content both in their physical and spiritual needs. By grace, they have sufficiency, overflow ... and will never be in want, as the Psalmist declares: "I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing."(Psalm 37:25, 26 NIV)
There are special provisions imported from heaven for the righteous by grace through Christ Jesus. There is no such provision available for the wicked. Only curse goes with wickedness. In the end, the wicked shall be in want. But, if only they turn away from their wicked ways and come to God by faith in Christ Jesus, He promised as it is written: "The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." (Psalm 34:10 ESV)

Proverbs 13:24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"He who spares the rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly."(Proverbs 13:24 NKJV)
He lets us know that, at times, we experience discomfort from the rod of His discipline because He loves us. That's the Lord's cue of what good parents should do to the children they love. Promptly, the rod of chastisement is to be applied with affection. This passage reminds that absence of correction over those entrusted in our care - our children, they are gift from God, is the worst form of hatred.
The moment of correction, as recipient thereof, would be our pop up alert to re-set the course of how we live. We are to effect change in our habit for the better, aligned with the counsel of God's holy words. We are to take action to re-direct our navigational sights. We let our steps be in sync with the lead of the Holy Spirit in our walk with God, by grace through faith in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Our Heavenly Father because of His love He corrects, as it is written: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” (Revelation 3:19 NKJV)

Proverbs 13:23 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"Much food is in the fallow ground of the poor, And for lack of justice there is waste." (Proverbs 13:23 NKJV)
He gives us a great revelation, the poor is not actually in lack. He has much resource, as everyone else. When God brought us into this world, He equipped us with the right tools and supplied us with good provisions. Before Adam and Eve were created, all the good things they needed have already been made available. For all that He created, scriptures declare - "And God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:3-31)
Yes, there is much food in each of everybody's "ground" allotted to each one who sets foot on this earth. But, the problem with the poor, his ground is fallow, dormant, neglected, unplowed, uncultivated and unsown. There is waste due to indiscretion and injustice. For absence of wise judgment and diligence, the land is mismanaged. Bad stewardship robbed the land out of its fruit. God's words promised: "He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread," (Proverbs 12:11a AMP)
We are to steward and plow the land He gave us for our portion, be it in the form of energy, health, service, profession, calling, work, business or investment. All these ought to be consecrated to God through faith in Jesus Christ. As we enter to rest in His grace, our need shall be met, as it is written: "And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19 ESV)

Proverbs 13:22 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But , the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous." (Proverbs 13:22 NKJV)He reveals His amazing plan for those who are righteous in the sight of God. For those who accepted Jesus his personal Lord and Savior, a good man he is. Not because of what he has done, but because of what Lord Jesus did. In Christ, a lasting legacy is promised by the provision of His grace.
God even uses the sinners to lay up wealth for the heirs of a good man. How does that work out? We need not know. All we do is trust and walk by faith not by sight in the light of His Word. It is written: "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory." (Romans 8:16-17 NIV)
In Christ Jesus, by faith, we cling on to Him. He is our strong tower. He is our source. Just follow and obey His cue. He'll take care of what's best for us. He shelters us, as the Psalmist declares: “Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. (Psalm 61:1-3 ESV)

Proverbs 13:21 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"Evil pursues sinners, But to the righteous, good shall be repaid." (Proverbs 13:21 NKJV)
A person who sins is restless and constantly looking over his shoulder. His conscience convicts him. Aware of his guilt, he is constantly running from guilt for the evil he has done. He has no peace. Only torment follows him.
The righteous are in direct contrast. Their hearts are clear. They have Jesus their Savior. Whose blood puts them right in the sight of God, whose grace is enough for them to bear fruits in the good things they manifest in their daily living. They are givers and not takers. When scripture teaches "give and it shall be given unto you". They believe and by grace the fruit of the Spirit shines on them. They know that by helping others at every opportunity, they have sure help from heaven. As you give, God gives you more. You cannot out give God. His holy Word establishes that righteousness leads to divine sanctification, while evil leads to condemnation.
As the righteous do good by grace through faith in Jesus, their reward waiting in heaven is great. Lord Jesus said, "Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ (Matthew 25:34-36 ESV)
He further said: "....‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’(Matthew 25:40b ESV)
And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 13:20 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed." (Proverbs 13:20 NKJV)
This affirms an established reality 'you are who you associate with'. What kind of person you are, can be known by the kind of people you spend most of your time with. A man is wise as he spends most of his time with the wise. He is a fool as he spends most of his time with fools.
A useful revelation is given us: wisdom is contagious. And sadly, so does with folly, which leads to destruction. Hence, let's spend our time walking with God always and fellowship with those who seek God. Wisdom comes from God only. "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Proverbs 9:10a NIV) Apart from Him, there are only follies. Arrogance and insistence to go our way will only bring more trouble to a drowning life.
God calls us to be wise. Stay away from the coaching of also-rans. Hang out with those who hang out with God, by faith in Christ Jesus. Hear His call. Let's respond and humbly run to Him. Learn from Him. Lord Jesus is calling us with compassion, as it is written: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)
