Proverbs 16:12 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says…

“It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, For a throne is established by righteousness.” (Proverbs 16:12 NKJV)

Positions of power are best served abiding in God's righteousness. Dispensation of authority and leadership should be grounded, executed and sustained by divine virtues. Favors and blessings abound where right standing with God reigns in the heart of those who are on the seat of control and influence.

Seats of authority and power are established by God. And, we are to submit to that authority as it is dispensed in God's righteousness and wisdom. Not wisdom of the world. Those are foolishness in God's sight (1 Corinthians 3:19). But, sadly, not all who occupies the throne of power are of God. Hence, not all their orders are to be followed when it collides against the precepts of God.

Like the throne of authority in the Kingdom of Babylon during the time of Daniel in the Bible, which was ruled by a godless king. Three teenagers, Shadrach, Mishach and Abedniggo, were ordered by king Nebuchadnessar to worship his god made of golden statue. They stood in their faith with their God - the true God of all Creation. They refused to submit to the king's order. They placed their faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Lord saved them from the fiery furnace and influenced a pagan king to worship the true God Almighty in the process (Daniel 3:16-28).

As God's children by faith in Jesus, we are to submit to higher heavenly authority. When our relationship with our Heavenly Father is at stake, we are to stand by faith in Him. When the apostles were threatened by the wicked religious leaders of their time, they stood in faith. It is written: “Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”” (Acts 5:29-32 NIV)

We have this comforting assurance: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
