“Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly.” (Proverbs 16:22 NKJV)
We are reminded, again, of the seriousness of having discernment in our living. Life is brief to waste on idiocy. Foolishness must be blocked from sneaking in. It must not be allowed to fool us. Even its attempt to make its ways right remains an act of lunacy.
Spiritual understanding is the wellspring of living water for those who have it. The Scripture tells us, in the gospel of John's account (in Chapter 4) of the woman at the well in Samaria, that the Lord Jesus was wearied from his journey. Evidently, he was also hungry and thirsty, for the disciples had gone into the village to buy food, and He asked the woman for a drink. But, after He revealed the Words of truth in His conversation to the woman, He received an upsurge of spiritual consciousness that dissipated His physical hunger, thirst and weariness.
It is the divine energy of understanding which enables us to be healed. Turning to the divine Mind as the source of divine energy, we are able to dispel the stranglehold of the mortal mind. This energy that comes by spiritual understanding of the Lord's gospel of grace and truth, lifts us up above physical limitations. In Christ Jesus, this is the power that brings us to life beyond.
The Lord Jesus Christ affirmed that spiritual understanding leads to victory over sickness, sin, lack and death. His consciousness of what complete harmony and spiritual understanding impart are revealed in His statement to the woman at Jacob's well. The same consciousness, we too ought to possess by faith in Him. It is written: “Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14 ESV)
And, "Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”" (John 4:31-32 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!
