Proverbs 17:23 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

“A wicked man accepts a bribe behind the back To pervert the ways of justice.” (Proverbs 17:23 NKJV)

This is another passage that tells the reality of corruption existing in this defiled world. It is a picture of two unprincipled characters passing payoffs in secret fashion to pervert the execution of justice. When things like these are done there is always a victim trampled upon and treated unjustly.

These are enemies of God and His people. God is a God of righteousness and justice. So, when some desire to pervert justice, they will find themselves to be enemies of God. We need not fight them eye for an eye. We'll leave them all to God! It is written, He assures -“Have I not kept this in reserve and sealed it in my vaults? It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.” (Deuteronomy 32:34-35 NIV)

Therefore we are to rest in the know, that although we may be served with injustice by a corrupt system here on this fallen earth, there will be a day when God will judge ALL according to His righteous standard.

As children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, righteous in His eyes (Romans 5:11), we are to stay, where we are, under the shadow of His grace despite of the world. His promise is this - “Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!” (Psalm 106:3 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
