Proverbs 17:3 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

“The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts.” (Proverbs 17:3 NKJV)

This passage alerts us that God is refining us to manifest the best of who we are. Psalms 7:9b says: "For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.”

His purpose is not to discourage and fail us, but to bring us to a place of favors and power beyond blessed, according to our doings of total reliance in our Lord Jesus Christ by faith. He says: “I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV)

As with silver and gold being refined in fiery pot and furnace, our refining process can be in a form of affliction designed to burn and cleanse the baggage of dross in our lives. It always brings out the best of us, as we trust in the winnowing flame of His love. His Words say: “Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” (Isaiah 48:10 NKJV)

“Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). But, we have this blessed assurance and promise: “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.” (1 Peter 4:12-13 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
