The Gospel of Luke 8:51-52 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.” (Luke 8:51-52 KJV).

In the presence of the author of life, physical death is merely a nap!

The miracle described in these verses is witnessed by just a few well-chosen people - mom, dad, Peter, James, and John. Why? This is not for show. Our Lord Jesus Christ is not performing for applause to gain fame and fortune. This is not to gather following to become an influencer or to draw attendance for box office success. The Lord Jesus does His miracles to demonstrate God's love for broken people. In this instance, this is for Jairus and his wife who were of enormous grief and heartbreak. Hence, it's also about to be a time of incredible joy and wonder. And, the Lord Jesus is not about to let the wailing crowd dominate and hijack this moment from Jairus and his wife.

Yes, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we rest secure in His grace by faith, free from the chain of religion and shackles of the world, we never die. We just rest asleep while waiting for the Lord Jesus to come again to take us with Him. Or, we fly when He appears in the clouds while our earth-suit or physical body is still intact.

We have these reassuring words from Scriptures to stand on. It is written: “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
