The Gospel of Luke 23:5 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.”(Luke 23:5 KJV).

This passage reveal that the religious leaders, along with the throng of Jews led by the High Priest, push back against Pontius Pilate and double down on their accusations. They insist that our Lord Jesus Christ stirs up the whole Jewish people through His teaching, starting from Galilee all the way to Judea. The religious crowd and elders claim that our Lord is causing riots and subverting the nation with His message. They emphasize His geographic reach to convince Pilate that He is a widespread political threat to the Roman rule.

All those accusations are far from the reality and truth. Viewing through the lens of God’s Grace, these are false political charges against a Savior whose kingdom is not of this world. This brings into surface the hidden danger of religion, which sadly continues to proliferate to this day. It warps and confuses people’s view of truth. It puts people on the saddle of deception that leads away from God into condemnation.

Those religious zealots that rejected the Son of God - our Lord Jesus Christ who came driven by love to save the world (them included), lost their opportunity as they allow religion to blind their spiritual sight. We shouldn’t follow them. Rather, we follow the apostles who believed. Let’s reflect on their confession of faith which Apostle Peter profoundly said, as it is written: “So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”” (John 6:67-69 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
