Proverbs 7:13-15 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"So she caught him and kissed him; With an impudent face she said to him: “ I have peace offerings with me; Today I have paid my vows. So I came out to meet you, Diligently to seek your face, And I have found you." (Proverbs 7:13-15 NKJV)
It shows how vulgar a harlot in her pursuit for a man to seduce. With daring public display of affection to a stranger, she uses statements with such impudence, hypocrisy and sarcasm alluding to food from ceremonial altar offering practice, while aggressively seducing her victim to violate God's commandment. It is not a good scene to see - a man being pursued and taken by a seductress. He ought to reject such advances.
But the sad thing is in some cases (if not most) man is the one pursuing a harlot, or even a meek woman under his control and influence. It is a deplorable act which a good husband, a father and a godly man, must not do. God is very clear in His command: "You must not commit adultery." (Deuteronomy 5:18 NLT)
Lord Jesus expounds the full intent of this command in His discourse - "You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:27, 28 NKJV)
And I say, AMEN!
