Proverbs 7:16-18 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

I have spread my bed with tapestry, Colored coverings of Egyptian linen. I have perfumed my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until morning; Let us delight ourselves with love. (Proverbs 7:16-18 NKJV)

He allows us to peek into an adulterous woman's wares and tools of enticements. The clear extravagance of worldly possessions, indicate the dangers of the controlling power of what a person owns. It can corrupt one's principle. This woman is loaded, and thinks of herself as righteous. She uses Egyptian linen as metaphor for worldly righteousness.

Love is deceptively used to express lust of the flesh. The magnitude of her preparation, affirms the planned intent to lead a man to sin. All portals of temptation are invaded. The eyes: by the superb adornments. The ears: by the alluring speech. The smell: with fragrant aroma. Against these enticements, one needs strength in order to not fall. We need protection to withstand the power of darkness. We need God's full armor.

The Scripture urges us: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm."(Ephesians 6:10-13 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
