When God says...
"By me kings reign, And rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, All the judges of the earth." (Proverbs 8:15, 16 NKJV)
He reveals that kings, rulers, princes and judges reign, rule and decree justly because of wisdom that comes from God. Wisdom is power to deliver justice upon the people of God's kingdom. Without wisdom there is injustice. Disorder and anarchy sweep a nation to chaos, which inflect suffering upon its people.
When God's commands are abandoned, kingdoms are drowned in the sea of lack and devastation. And, banishment from the sight of The Lord, as in the reign of Ahab the worst wicked king of Israel. It is written - "They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal. They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sought omens and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger. So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. (2 Kings 17:16-18a NIV)
Such are tragic lessons to reflect on, in our domain of influence, in our home, in our work, in our business, in our cubicle, in our personal life. One may ask, am I wise? Someone says - Folly is when you open your mouth, wisdom is when you open your ears. God's Word reminds: "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, .." (James 1:19a ESV)
