“The foolishness of a man twists his way, And his heart frets against the Lord.” (Proverbs 19:3 NKJV)
This passage says that people stray the wrong path and wreck their lives by their own stupidity, then blame God for it. Wisdom of the world already has its own trouble. How much more when man's folly is added to it. And, there's the devil with its agenda to "kill and destroy." Without God, anyone could definitely wander into a tangled way. Yet, still people ignore God's counsel... then vilify Him when things go south. This reminds the naked truth of what is written: “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness;” (I Corinthians 3:19 NKJV)
We are to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NKJV)
Let's reflect on these verses deeply. Allow it to touch our hearts. Focus on which that touches a tinge in the core of our being - perhaps pride, feeling of self-righteousness, or self-centeredness, or ego, anything that gives the wrong impression we can wade through life without God and His Words. Yeah, let God's Words soak us. Let's not be like a fool who frets against God of the repercussions of his foolishness.
And I say, AMEN!
