When God says...
“Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” (Proverbs 19:1 NKJV)
This should drive us to zealously consider the essence of living. We are to be aware that possessions or the lack of it come and go. While character defines who we are and where we are going. Poverty is an event. It is a hiccup encountered in the journey, where you can choose to get out of or choose to be stuck in, depending on how your values are built. When we walk in our integrity and godly virtues built upon the foundation of God's Word, even if we are poor we are already better than a man (even a rich one in the standards of the world) whose conducts are foolish and wicked.
Whatever season we face, let's stay on track. We must be grounded in God's Words, resting in grace by faith in Christ Jesus. He promised and it is written: "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." (Psalm 1:1-6 ESV)
