When God says...
“When the wicked comes, contempt comes also; And with dishonor comes reproach.” (Proverbs 18:3 NKJV)
This is pointing to a person’s state of living. The wicked is one who is operating outside the grace of God. His presence brings the atmosphere of contempt. This gives a picture of arrogance that’s abhorrent to look through the lens of God's divine plan and purpose. This clearly warns that wickedness (that is the state of separation from God) brings contempt that leads to dishonoring God which ends in disgrace and eternal destruction. But, the truth is, for everyone who would just come to God, have faith in Jesus and totally depend in His finished work on the cross, favors abound that leads to eternal life.
Here we see a person who dishonors God, by rejecting the saving sacrifice of Christ Jesus on the cross. Yes, Jesus loves him and us so much! He died in our behalf, so ALL that we need for life and Godliness are already provided to us by grace. We are to wisely just take that step to receive His Lordship and rest in His grace. Not religion with its rigmarole of rituals and dos and don'ts. We posture in right believing to give Him thanks and praise! So, by faith in Christ Jesus, honor we give.... “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
(Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV)
And I say, AMEN!
