Proverbs 18:24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24 NKJV)

With this verse, God is reminding what matters most in friendship. He wants us to be in the know that quantity, as what Facebook brags about, can never replace quality of friendship. Like, we have a friend in the Lord Jesus, who loves us that He gave His life for us, so we can have life and life everlasting. He is a friend who truly loves us which He demonstrated by dying for us. On the same fashion, He commanded us to love as well, and be ready to lay our lives for those we love. Such a quality friend ‘closer than a brother’, indeed! “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (1 John 3:16 NIV)

And, for those who truly seek the Lord and receive His atoning sacrifice by having an intimate relationship Him, not religion but rather have a personal kinship with our Lord Jesus Christ, He gives this reassuring declaration - “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:13-15 NIV)

And I say, AMEN!
