When God says...
“Better to dwell in the wilderness, Than with a contentious and angry woman.” (Proverbs 21:19 NKJV)
He is warning again that when contention and anger sneak into our homes, strife reigns. They usually come when the doors of our homes are unguarded. When we allow unhindered traffic flowing in and out our doorways, critters could come in, and some would stay like anger and contention. When that happens, we will see an agitated man or woman dwelling in a home. It transforms a home from a place of comfort to a zone of discomfort and strife, which makes the wilderness a luxurious alternative.
That's not God's plan for our homes. That's the work of the enemy of our soul. He blurs our spiritual sight from God's way of living to make us unwittingly open our doors to his wicked ways. That's why it is vital we keep ourselves stirred and reminded by God's holy and written Words, day by day. His Words keep us from falling to the devil's ploy. His words clear our vision and lead us in the path of righteousness. In grace by faith in Christ Jesus, He takes us to His Shangri-la. When we obey the premise, we will experience the exploits of the promise in our homes, as it is written: "And the effect of righteousness will be peace and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places."(Isaiah 32:17, 18 ESV)
