Proverbs 28:20 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says...

“A faithful man shall abound with blessings: But he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” (Proverbs 28:20 KJV)

Instant gratification drives people to do quick-rich schemes that will not leave them innocent, this passage alludes. A schemer deserves punishment, this passage warns. Curse follows every deceit employed to hasten gain. In time, one who does as such will face serious confrontation with reckoning (Romans 14:12).

A faithful man abounds with blessings! When we receive the saving grace of Jesus by His finished work on the cross in faith, all the resources of heaven that pertain to life and godliness are made available for us (2 Peter 1:3). We are transformed to do something on this planet in sync with the gift we have been given, in cooperation with our Creator. As we do our part faithfully in His grace, guided by His holy and written Words and led by the Holy Spirit, blessings abound in all that we do.

That is what we are assured by the Lord Jesus in His sermon on the Mount, when we pursue God's kingdom first and foremost. Through Him, by having His Lordship in our life, blessings will pursue us and be added unto us! Yes, we have the assurance that when we seek, we will find (Matthew 7:7). Let us therefore seek, as He said: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 ESV)

And I Say, AMEN!
