The Gospel of Luke 10:38 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.” (Luke 10:38 KJV).

In another instance, by this passage, we learn the Lord Jesus Christ enters the home of Martha, who has a sister named Mary, in a certain village. The Lord did not mutter peace upon the house as He entered, nor Luke stated in this passage that He did so. This drives the reality that in Him is peace. His presence is the presence of peace. And, as He is tacitly welcomed, the ambience affirms the presence of the “son or daughter of peace” in this home  (Luke 10:6). This is reflected in the person of Martha whose welcoming posture that this verse conveys, profoundly demonstrates a spirit of faith to receive the grace of God in Christ Jesus.

Yes, our Lord Jesus Christ is the Person of peace. He is the giver of peace that protects us from fear. He said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27 NIV). He has the power to unite us in peace, if only the world comes to His presence and believes. “For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in His own body on the cross, He broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.” (Ephesians 2:14 NLT). By faith, if only all of humanity comes to His presence and believe, then, “the world will be as one” as a line of a song once declared.

So now, in Christ Jesus’ name, as we enter a home we visit, as His own - purchased by His blood, He is in us by His grace through faith. The Prince of Peace, that the prophet Isaiah prophesied, is in us. And, we are remembering His entrance into this world as we celebrate in this season. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
