When God says...
"People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed. People who wink at wrong cause trouble, but a bold reproof promotes peace." (Proverbs 10:9, 10 NLT)
He brings to mind Romans chapter 6 verse 4, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." The upright walk is the walk we walk following Jesus. We will neither stumble nor fall, because we have the light of Jesus at our feet to light our way. Even as we fall, being still in the world of roadblocks, we always rise up.
Evil lurks stealthily in the dark. But will be exposed. They hoodwink and undermine you. If you allow to be influenced by them, your sins will find you out and haunt you. Those who have integrity or who live by the creed they believe, exist without fear of some evil work being discovered, while those who are perverse and have secret wickedness will not be able to hide it.
As children of God by faith in Jesus, we are to walk in godly principles and wisdom. Deceivers may use their secret signals on us, but with God's discernment their body language gives them away. The gavel of God's chastisement falls on them. If they receive it, His harvest of peace reigns. As it is written - "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11 ESV)
