"Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14 NKJV)
He brings for our reminder the importance of a well-informed and well-advised decision. Rash decisions without consultation run the risk of failure. People who are hasty and impulsive mostly end up at a place of regrets - where thoughts of "I should have" and "I could have" come to haunt them the rest of their lives.
Multiple counsels bring a better posture for decision making. Different angles of perspectives are made available for a prayerful evaluation which option leads to a happy, stable, fruitful and blessed result. "Lone Ranger" attitude is not God's plan for man. The Lord God said "it is not good for man to be alone" and He gives man a suitable helper. (Genesis 2:18). Two heads are better than one, as it is written - "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." (Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10 NIV)
Let's seek and welcome brotherly counsels, and be prayerful for the Holy Spirit to help us with decisions made safe and in sync with the will of God, in Jesus name. Our Lord Jesus gave us this promise: "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." (John 14:26 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!
