When God Says...
“A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 24:5-6 NKJV)
These passages tell us that knowledge is power. In fact, God warns that - “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge" in Hosea 4:6 NIV.
There is power in the knowledge of God and His Words to, not only, set people free from bondage, but also to transform people’s lives from the inside out. The arrays of counsels of God's Words keep us safe in this treacherous terrain of the fallen world.
Being wise in having the knowledge of the truth of God's holy and written Words equip us for every challenges and storms of life that we will encounter. And, challenges and storms will come our way in many forms and shapes. It is just a matter of time. When? We don't know. But, it comes. That's why it's important to be grounded in the promises of God's Words, so, to withstand. Lord Jesus affirmed this reality, as He declared: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (Matthew 7:24-27 NIV)
In this life, we are battling an unseen enemy. Hence, as children of God by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words - “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,” (Ephesians 6:13-17 ESV)
