Proverbs 19:10 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

“Luxury is not fitting for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule over princes.” (Proverbs 19:10 NKJV)

With this passage, He is provoking our spiritual thoughts. The Message Bible paraphrase puts it this way: "Blockheads shouldn’t live on easy street any more than workers should give orders to their boss." (Proverbs 19:10 MSG)

In this physical world, possessions and positions are earned. It calls for high degree of stewardship of accountability and capability. And, foremost it calls for knowing the sovereign owner and source and master. Anyone in such a loaded seat of control without preparation and grounding would indeed be like a fool shoved in splendor and a slave directing his worldly master. They will just waste luxury and squander productive power to naught, for which they are both ignorant and lacking management skills, respectively. We’ve seen it happened to people’s lives destroyed by windfall material gains from lotteries and inherited power.

Referring to things good for the soul, which are better than luxuries of the world, Lord Jesus said: "“Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you." (Matthew 7:6 NLT)

In regard with reversed roles of slave and master analogy, Lord Jesus gives this instruction: "Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14 ESV)

In the Body of Christ, each of us has an effective part to play, starting where we are at when we know the truth. Apostle Paul urged us with these words: "Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free. Masters, it’s the same with you. No abuse, please, and no threats. You and your servants are both under the same Master in heaven. He makes no distinction between you and them.” (Ephesians 6:5-9 MSG)

And I say, AMEN!
