When God says...
“Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard.” (Proverbs 21:13 NKJV)
This passage is reminding: Those who disregard and play deaf to cries for help from those who need it, won't be heard and won't be helped, as well, in their times of need. And, there will be times of need for everyone!
When a rich man denied crumbs to a beggar in this life, he sets himself up to be denied a drop of water in the hellfire of eternity. And, it was too late. That’s a parable to reflect on. Now!
Yes, now is the right time for awakening! It's time to receive the Lordship of Jesus in our life by accepting Him in our hearts and declaring in our mouth that He died for our sin and arose again to give us life! Then, let us open our ears to hear the cries of the poor and have our spot in the heavenly realm.
The Lord Jesus tells this parable for us to meditate on: "There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’” (Luke 16:19-31 ESV)

Proverbs 21:11-12 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: And when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge. The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: But God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.” (Proverbs 21:11-12 KJV)
These passages reveal the hard and easy ways to gain wisdom. It all depends on the kind of person you are. If you are one of those who mock correction, as a scorner is, you may have to go through the hard way to learn a lesson. Even then, it is not an assurance for a scorner to readily learn something. A naive person though, who is watching, could probably gain wisdom from it.
On the other hand, a wise person needs only a simple instruction to be wiser. He is the one who makes every encounter of everyday living lessons for learning. Even criticisms are used as opportunity to make improvements. He watches the house of the wicked reaping the wages of their wickedness to avoid for himself the foolish things they do. He stands righteous in the eyes of God, knowing that he is the righteousness of God by grace through faith in Jesus (Romans 3:22).
Yes, in Christ Jesus we are! It is written, Apostle Paul reminds: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:17-21 ESV)

Proverbs 21:10 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The soul of the wicked desires evil; His neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.” (Proverbs 21:10 NKJV)
He gives us a pop up alert - the sights of a wicked are locked on his evil desires. He holds nothing else in his heart except to create havoc wherever and whenever and whomever he has the chance. It is tragic being in the proximity to one. When evil comes to possess the heart of a person, there is no telling who would become his victim. For the wicked, there is no family, no friend and no neighbor. Compassion is not in his nature, no question. It has no place in his being. There is no favor in the eyes of the wicked. He is set to do evil. He has no sense of what is right.
Hence, this passage is our cue to stay shielded by God’s grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Apostle Paul conveys this urging: “And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command.” (2 Thessalonians 3:2-4 NIV)
For the wicked, he needs to stop and turn around, for he certainly ends up in the pit of hell where he is headed. The Scripture says: "The wicked shall return to Sheol, all the nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17 ESV) Yes, that's where those who forget God are headed. But, God is merciful. He loves even the wicked. God saves them if they come to make a resolve, abandon their wicked ways and do what is right to receive the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is written: "Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.” (Ezekiel 18:27, 28 ESV)

Proverbs 21:9 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, Than with a brawling woman in a wide house.” (Proverbs 21:9 KJV)
When God settled Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, it was for a harmonious work-together-as-one union, where Eve was to help Adam tend the garden. But sin entered when Adam fell to Satan's lie. He ate the fruit which the serpent coaxed Eve to eat. He grabbed it without hesitation when Eve gave him. And, he ate it! Ever since that moment, humanity is separated from God. Contention arose in relationships. Between husbands and wives, of which Adam and Eve were the first married couple of a man and a woman instituted by God, a chasm emerged.
This passage warns of such environment in a home. It exists in a relationship, especially, when the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ is evicted from the tripartite bond of marriage. His presence, when we accept Him to be Lord of our life and sovereign in our dwelling, brings harmony and peace even in differences and disagreements. Love reigns in the house! In Christ, the curse of Adam's sin is reversed (Romans 5:12-21).
So, as children of God, being made a 'new creation' in Christ Jesus by faith, we are called to nurture a home abounding in love, where nags and brawls can't break. Hence, Apostle Peter exhorts us, we the husbands and wives in the body of Christ, with these words: “Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening. Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” (Peter 3:1-7 ESV)

Proverbs 21:7-8 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God Says...
“The violence of the wicked will destroy them, Because they refuse to do justice. The way of a guilty man is perverse; But as for the pure, his work is right.” (Proverbs 21:7, 8 NKJV)
He warns us that when the wicked is around, violence surrounds. Specially, when the wicked holds the longer end of the stick or sits on position of power. Like what's tragically happening in this present world we live. Every kind of injustice and violence are inflicted everyday against the powerless by those who are in power. Even in this great country, which is being look up to as the guardian of equality, freedom and liberty around the world - shameful cruelty is being perpetrated. Wickedness is orchestrated from the top upon the law abiding citizenry, where the productive men and women are being brutalized and marginalized, to celebrate insolence and slothfulness.
Taxes upon taxes are heaped on those who worked hard to tab the costs of those who don't want to work and those who sneak-in to take advantage of the system. But, let it be known, that those who are guilty, whose ways are perverse and committing injustice are bound for destruction by their own violence, these passages reveal. They will reap the fruits of what they sow!
God's protection is upon those whose hearts are pure and doing what is right in His eyes through grace by faith in Jesus. It is written and God promised, as the Psalmist declares: "Who may climb the mountain of The Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the lord ’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.” (Psalms 24:3-5 NLT)

Proverbs 21:5-6 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. Getting treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death.” (Proverbs 21:5-6 NKJV)
He reminds us the right way to carry our load and to run our race. We need to plan then execute. Plan is when we put the order of steps to do in such a way convenient to follow for execution. No impulse action. It is said: “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” Wise plan involves cooperation with God by allowing His guidance to have the primary role in the process from start to completion. Yes, that’s how diligence works - be in concert with God’s way in honesty and truth. We must be guided by His holy and written Word and be led by the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Rather than plan how to up-end others with deceptive schemes and sweet talks. That’s the enemy’s wicked ploy. It leads to disastrous crash, destruction and death (Proverbs 14:11-12).
Having received the Lordship of Christ Jesus by faith, we are members of His body in His grace. Things of God must dominate our mind. As He enjoins us through Apostle Paul - “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8 NKJV)

Proverbs 21:4 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin.” (Proverbs 21:4 NKJV)
He lays bare for us to realize, arrogance and pride are just plain sin in the eyes of The Lord. These are prominent marks of the wicked. He carries himself with scornful attitude before God and man. He is always designing, devising, plotting and plowing mischiefs and schemes in his heart. His every effort is done to serve his condescending spirit. He is contemptuous, yet, charming. He plows and sows, in pretentious generosity. But in reality he throws the baits to take something to feed his greed. In his pride, he postures with luxuries showing off to those he looks down. He is totally the antithesis of Jesus who died for all – the saints and the sinners.
Yes, Jesus died for us all and saved us that we may live following His example in humility, through His grace by faith in Him. As believers in Jesus, being members of the body of Christ, Apostle Paul challenged us with these words: "Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” (Philippians 2:1-4 NIV)

Proverbs 21:3 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” (Proverbs 21:3 NKJV)
This verse upholds God's pleasure on righteousness, through grace by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. Righteousness is not by our works of self-effort to obey the law. Lord Jesus already did the sacrifice for us on the cross. Scriptures say: ".. all our righteous acts are like filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6b). Our sacrifice, if we would try to, as many do, is not worthy. Jesus is the end of the law for us who believe in Him (Romans 10:4). When we put our faith in Jesus, His righteousness is imputed on us (2 Corinthians 5:21). Faith! We fix our eyes on Christ Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith! (Hebrews 12:2).
Through Him, we receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, as we receive His Lordship, we are cleansed of the first Adam's sinful blood and a new blood is infused in us with the DNA of Jesus - the last Adam (2 Corinthians 15:45). Apostle Paul exhorts with these words: “For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:17-21 ESV)

Proverbs 21:2 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.” (Proverbs 21:2 NKJV)This passage is reminding that, first and foremost, in the eyes of God it is not what we do that matters in our way of living. It is what we truly believe and treasure in our heart! Doing is already done by the Lord Jesus on the cross.
What matters to us now in this day of living is, right believing. Right believing makes us righteous in the eyes of God (Romans 3:22-31). In Christ, by faith, we are the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). And, when we declare the truth of who are, we bear the fruit of righteousness as witnesses to be seen by the eyes of men and women who seek God. They will truly see the fruit through us and give God the glory.
The world as it is, in their contempt of the Lord Jesus Christ, won't see it. Their eyes are blind to things of God and of heaven. For them life lived in the righteousness of God is repulsive. They hate all things of God. Specially the religious, who claims they are believers in Jesus, but like the religious Pharisees they actually trust in their doctrines of men and reject the Lord's gospel of grace and truth (John 1:17). They hate our Lord Jesus Christ! (Matthew 12:14)
As the redeemed of our Lord Jesus Christ through faith in Him, we are warned - “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.” (John 15:18-21 ESV)

Proverbs 21:1 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1 NKJV)
He uses an amazing metaphor in the flowing rivers of water on how He turns the hearts of kings to wherever He wishes. That applies to our hearts, too. I say amazing, as God in His faithfulness, finds His way to direct our path without abrogating our free will. Water flows where path is available. It diverts or overflows when its path is obstructed or a dam is built. But when a new path is found, it fluidly flows through it on its own. Water can't be forced. It finds its way through a path. What we can do to divert it is by making a new channel.
God does the same with our hearts. Like water, God will not force kings or us, to go His way. He honors the free will He gave us. But, what He does, if we are sensitive to His participation in our life, out of His love He takes our hearts in His hands. He obstructs the way we are headed, which we thought is good, but actually dangerous further down the stream. Then, He opens new and good passageway that leads to favors and blessings. It happens at the moment we rest in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ by receiving His Lordship in our life through faith. As we welcome the Holy Spirit, whom the Father sends to live in us, by His promptings let's just be fluid like water flowing through the floodgate of God's favors. He promised, as it is written: "The lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” (Psalms 32:8 NLT)

Proverbs 20:30 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, As do stripes the inner depths of the heart.” (Proverbs 20:30 NKJV)
It drives home to the core of problems plaguing our society nowadays. Where we hear crimes committed every day. Murders, road rages, home invasions, school shootings, massacres, sexual assaults and the list goes on and on and on. Perpetrators are all across the spectrum of ages. Children becoming criminals in their supposed to be age of innocence, gone are their respect for authorities in homes and in schools. They are pampered and protected to do whatever please them. Mostly, may not have heard the word ‘No’ as they do anything they desire.
The sad thing is some of them are pleased to do evil. Parents and mentors cannot anymore do anything about them. The tools of chastisement and discipline are taken away from them. Young kids are empowered in their untouchable posture. Now, parents, teachers and every authority supposed to be over them can only watch with aching heart their children and students walk down the road to destruction and/or populate the 5 star prisons prepared for them by those who claim to protect them. There, they enjoy serving their taxpayer paid vacation, which costs double the income of their middle class benefactors. All these are consequences to quashing God's effective way of discipline through the doctrines of 'child protection' and ‘political correctness’.
This passage, therefore, reminds in The Message Bible paraphrase: "A good thrashing purges evil; punishment goes deep within us." Yes, God's wise way of chastisement may at times, makes a bit of pain. But, it leads to gain. As children of God by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, we are to discipline our children. It is parents’ penultimate expression of love to their children. And yes, the blows that hurt and stripes to the heart save the soul and herald a fruitful life to those who receive it. It is written: "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” (Hebrews 12:11 NIV)
And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 20:29 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The glory of young men is their strength, And the splendor of old men is their gray head.” (Proverbs 20:29 NKJV)
He highlights two major milestones of our life in this physical realm. This is to help us realize how best to live this temporal body as fruitful and blessed as it should be, for the benefit of our spiritual body. It is a system of investing the natural for the supernatural. At the peak of our youth, while strength abounds, we should live to the utmost in the ways of God's righteousness according to His plan for eternal gain. That is to abide in His Word by faith in Jesus. In so doing, when we reach the pinnacle of our journey, we can step into the splendor of old age. And, with head graying in wisdom, we will reap the realities of King Solomon's declaration: "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.” (Proverbs 16:31 NIV)
And, we can rest in the peace of God through grace by faith in Christ Jesus, while we eagerly wait our Lord's return, as it is written: "Then when Christ, the Chief Shepherd, comes, you will get a glorious crown that will never lose its beauty.” (1 Peter 5:4 NCV)
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:34 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 20:28 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Mercy and truth preserve the king, And by lovingkindness he upholds his throne.” (Proverbs 20:28 NKJV)
He gives two important virtues of mercy and truth to establish and preserve authority in leadership. No worse causes of degeneration in leadership authority than cruelty and lie. Abuse of power and oppressive imposition of leadership weaken a kingdom, a nation, a business, a family and every kind of unit in society. Worst of all, when such kind of leadership is navigating on the lane of deceit and falsehood, collapse comes in a rapid pace. Sad images of families breaking down, businesses ruined, kingdoms and nations free-falling in the chasm of anarchy are heart-breaking to watch. We saw it happened many times in our short history.
News flash! Timeline – NOW! These are all happening around us. And, that's a place God hates to see us to be in. He loves us so much! That's not in His plans for us. Hence, He draws us unto virtues from His Words to set our footings strong on mercy and truth. And, in His lovingkindness, let us embrace the domain God has blessed us, with full trust upon Him by His grace through faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. He will preserve, as David declared in these words: "O Lord, in Your strength the king will be glad, And in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice! You have given him his heart's desire, And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah. For You meet him with the blessings of good things; You set a crown of fine gold on his head. For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord, And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.” (Psalms 21:1-3, 6, 7 NASB)

Proverbs 20:27 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.” (Proverbs 20:27 NKJV)
This reminds us that the life-giving breath of God upon our lives provides the light deep in our hearts to enable us to see His vision for how we should live. When God breathed into the nostrils of man the breath of life, He transformed the man made of dirt into a living being in His likeness (Genesis 2:7). That breath of spirit God apportioned in the hearts of men is His lamp that searches for any unrighteousness in every heart. The spirit is the conscience that gives man sensitivity to what is right and what is wrong in God’s eyes. The spirit stands as the agent of conviction in each and every decision that we make. Being fed by the holy and written Words of God, our spirit is the abettor of godly ways in us.
As men and women made in the likeness of God and now redeemed by grace through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9), we have in our hearts the lamp of God. And His Spirit, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead whom He sends when we surrender our life and accept Jesus our personal Lord and Savior, joins with our spirit (Romans 6:10-11). With the lamp of God shining in the depths of our hearts and with the person of the Holy Spirit residing in us, we should now see that we are His children. He testifies with our spirit that we are children of God (Romans 8:16).

It is written: "So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” (Romans 8:15-17 NLT)

Proverbs 20:26 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A wise king sifts out the wicked, And brings the threshing wheel over them.” (Proverbs 20:26 NKJV)He gives us a peek into the certain terror awaiting those who live in wicked ways, those who are contemptuous of God and His Words. They are those who trust in their work of religious self-effort, instead of resting in grace by faith in Jesus, and those who totally turn away from God and rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. It gives a picture of harsh execution of justice in a kingdom where a wise king sits on the throne. He shifts through his subjects to extract the agents of degeneration in society, who are out-laws and evil-doers. He is likened to a farmer that winnows his grain on the threshing floor then rolls the threshing wheel over it to cast out the useless chaff.
It is a chilling advisement of the King of Kings' dispensation of judgement on the Day of Reckoning. When He comes, He separates the sheep - who represent those who receive the Lordship of Christ Jesus by faith, from the goats - who represent those who do not believe in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is written: “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'" Proverbs 20:24-25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“A man’s steps are of the Lord; How then can a man understand his own way? It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows.” (Proverbs 20:24, 25 NKJV)He takes us to a place of awareness that in order for us to arrive at the place where God wants us to be, from wherever we are, our steps must be led by The Lord. As a man of the world, we are like a blind groping in the dark. And, let's beware! The world is a minefield of the devil's traps and snares of temptations, tests and tribulations. We need the leading of the One who sees the end from the beginning. We need the One who can help us navigate safely through the perilous maze. Our steps must be ordered of The Lord. How can we understand our way as a man? Sin faltered man’s rhythm into a drunken stupor. Our eyes could be blurred by the sights of the world's merchandise. Unfiltered by God’s holy and written Words, our thoughts run wild, with lips rash in its vows and promises, but quick to dishonor it. That's the way of the man made of clay, separated from his Creator.
But the blood of the Lamb made us a new being in spirit by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. As we welcome Him in our life, His Spirit lives in us to guide our lips and steps that we may walk circumspectly, with lips declaring praise and honor unto the name of Jesus, the Name above all names. His Words through Apostle Paul charge us with this call: "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God." (Ephesians 5:15-21 NKJV)

Proverbs 20:23 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Diverse weights are an abomination to the Lord, And dishonest scales are not good.” (Proverbs 20:23 NKJV)
He emphasizes His indignation towards all kinds of deceit, dishonesty and trickery. Gains derived from unjust means merely flow straight through the drain of penury. Yes, fraudulent people think that they make more profit with their inaccurate scales. Little do they know, or rather woe to them who did not know, they are actually doing business in parch fields. Worst of all, those who knowingly do it in hardness of heart against God's Words, not only that they do things abominable in His eyes, their efforts are fruitless. They are in a place of draught. And the saddest reality is, they bet their eternal life for their greed (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
As children of God by faith in Jesus, sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we are to make deals in honesty and truth on the table. We are to rest in His finished work on the cross by His grace in conducting our affairs. The Holy Spirit will guide us in all our doings, if we allow Him. Following His cue in all that we do, He promised long life of blessings, as it is written: "Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. Do not have two differing measures in your house—one large, one small. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.” (Deuteronomy 25:13-16 NIV)

Blessed Mother's Day!
Dear Moms,
Great to remember and reflect, your motherly reverberating declarations to us, your children:
I love you!
I believe in you!
I am praying for you!
So, to our Moms, Thank You! In the comfort your womb, God formed us!
Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, with a grateful heart, we give you glory and praise for the greatest blessing of Moms in our lives! "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalms 139:14 KJV)
We declare with thanksgiving: "Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name. " (Isaiah 49:1 NIV)
We love you, MOMS!

Proverbs 20:22 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"Do not say, “I will recompense evil”; Wait for the Lord, and He will save you." (Proverbs 20:22 NKJV)
He reminds that in this world, be it known, we are in the dark stronghold of evil, operating in invisible realms (Ephesians 6:12). Yet, every day you will not miss seeing one of his minions. The enemy is all around. He peddles trouble. He injures when we're not watchful. He trips us down if we walk careless. He uses fleshly cohorts, both our enemies and friends, to persecute us. He even recruits those closest to us. So, when evil comes our way, the Word of God clearly instructs us - "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21 ESV)
And, instead of hatred or worse, vengeance, we are to hate evil and love his minions, and that includes our enemies. Lord Jesus said: "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you," (Matthew 5:44 ESV)
Knowing the difficulty we are in, this passage seriously instructs us that we must leave up to God, whatever is needed be done. By faith in Christ Jesus, we have a stronghold to run to and take refuge in His grace, the Psalmist declared: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." (Psalms 46:1 NIV). He promised to avenge the evils and wrongs done to us, as it is written: "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” (Romans 12:19, 20 NIV)

Proverbs 20:21 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"An inheritance gained hastily at the beginning Will not be blessed at the end." (Proverbs 20:21 NKJV)
He warns us to refrain from the cravings and pursuits of greed. It drives a person to do things hastily and unjustly, against another, even their own family - parents and siblings. Like the parable of the prodigal son who hurried up to claim for his inheritance from his fully alive father, right on the face of his brother. And, this is in a culture where handing down of heritage is viewed a sacred occasion to mark a transition from a passing generation to an incoming one. Handing of inheritance is a moment of convergence of both the end and the beginning of two generations. Such a disruption by greed, the curse can be as profound as the story of the prodigal son illustrated. Not only that this prodigal son cast the curse unto his future children, grandchildren and generations of offspring, he squandered his own. The end result of his action upon his life was an unpleasant waste, as it is written: “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.” (Luke 15:13, 14 NIV)
In that wretched state, unless one reverses it by entering into grace through repentance and by faith in Jesus, he heaps misery on them that follow him. But, there's hope. Our heavenly Father redeems by His love, as the gospel reveals: "From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:16, 17 NLT)

And, God by His love, provided a way for everyone to reverse any curse cast on them so no one will perish. It is written: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 ESV) As we receive the Lordship of Jesus, He declared: "... I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10b ESV)

Proverbs 20:20 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.” (Proverbs 20:20 NKJV)
Such a scary warning about something seemed trivial that some children just casually do. Many young people have been captive of the world's notion that embracing rebellion against parents is acceptable millennial attitude. They behave as if they evolve from something, forgetting the truth that they have been fearfully and wonderfully formed by God from nothing in their mother's womb (Psalm 139:14). They act amnesiac of being cared for and nurtured to become who they are - a precious child loved by God and by the parents who raised them.
This passage is addressed to them - rebellious kids, and a warning to all. Cursing those who love you has dreadful consequences. It snuffs off the light of one’s life to end up groping in the dark. But, thankfully, we all have a choice to walk in the light by His grace through faith in Jesus. He is the light of the world. He gives life to all - abundantly! If only we hear, we listen and abide in His Words that "life may go well with us." Yes, that's long life, not death! In fact, He gives our spirit life in the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross (1 Peter 3:18).
Hence, through Apostle Paul, God further reminds with this instruction - “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”” (Ephesians 6:1-3 ESV)

Proverbs 20:19 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.” (Proverbs 20:19 NKJV)
He rings the warning bell! If a person talks to you about somebody else's secrets, that's your pop up alert! He talks about your secrets with somebody else. Talebearers and flatterers, they are called. Those are two of the most dangerous people to associate and talk with. They will sell you out. They're experts at destroying people's reputation and relationships. They pit husbands against wives - children against parents. Yes, they create havoc in families, in friendships, in partnerships and every type of bond with their tittle-tattle. They are unprincipled and master insinuators. They are good at patronizing and always eager to boost your ego to lift you up soaring high for a subsequent devastating fall - flat on your face. Yes, God forbade us from associating with such as them, for the risk of becoming like them or becoming a victim by them is an unescapable reality.
As people of God by grace, bearing the name of Jesus Christ through faith, Apostle Peter exhorts us with these words: "If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a BUSYBODY in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?” Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.” (I Peter 4:14-19 NKJV)

Proverbs 20:18 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Plans are established by counsel; By wise counsel wage war.” (Proverbs 20:18 NKJV)This is a reminder to refrain from haste, and never neglect to seek good counsel. And, we have our only perfect Counselor who is our Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 9:6). When we receive His Lordship in our life, in this day - right now, we have this assurance: “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” (John 14:20 NIV)
He also provided us other counselors. We have His perfect Word, which can make us wise (Psalms 19:7; 119:98). We have our parents, who have much greater wisdom and experience with the grounds they have covered in their journey. The war they survived, under the cover of God's grace. Their history of God's loving hands shielding them during troubled times they have to go through and the battles of living they fought, are great source of counsel and wisdom. And, their love provides strong motivation to save us from trouble. We, their children are their gifts from God (Psalms 127:3-4).
Most of all, as He is in us, we have wise counsel in the war we wage against the forces of darkness. The Lord Jesus also promised this: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Proverbs 20:17 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; But afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.” (Proverbs 20:17 KJV)Using the metaphor as practical illustration of "bread of deceit", this passage is showing the ultimate consequence of such ungodly way of making a living. Sadly, it is becoming the reality in this world - shackled by religion and precepts of man. This fallen world operates in the law of the jungle - no rules – except, what's in it for me? Yes, they set some semblance of rules which change at whims. And, the fittest survives! Everyone is scrambling ahead on top of each other, no care of who they trample upon like in a rush to grab first their “Black Friday” sale hunt. They celebrate their trophy no matter how they got it. Mostly, it is always at the expense of their innocent unsuspecting weaker victim.
That's the world of the fallen Adam, which runs in deceit, in bullying and by threat of cancellation. But, their joy is short-lived. The reward of their ungodly endeavor is not lasting. It dies quick. Like smoke, it dissipates in a blink of an eye. The bread, they thought was sweet, will in a flash reality become gravel in their mouth. They won't enjoy it. There is always a consequence to face with in the "bread of deceit".
This should stir us to realize - we have a choice! We are invited! We are welcome in the restored garden by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Wherein, we are made a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) and set free. It is written: “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:22-23 ESV)

Proverbs 20:16 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Take the garment of one who is surety for a stranger, And hold it as a pledge when it is for a seductress.” (Proverbs 20:16 NKJV)He cautions us the risks of losing our resources even being stripped off with everything we have down to our garments by being a surety to another, especially a stranger who has no intention to honor it. Yes, it could be taken as pledge for a temptress who has the same ulterior motives.
People going around conducting business with nothing but sweet talk are clear signs of hidden schemes. So does a charmer. Anyone who walks not in the light of God would be an easy prey to step in their traps, reminiscent of Judah's fall over Tamar's seduction (Genesis 38).
Yes, not all strangers are bad. They can be messengers of good tidings sent by God. And you discern them by their spirit. But, no man of good intention comes conducting business unprepared to discharge his part. Honorable men come able and ready to stand for his account. On the other hand, scammers come prepared with hidden cards under their sleeves to manipulate someone to stand as pledge for his account then disappear. We ought to be watchful about their modus operandi so as not to be duped as surety for their wicked plot. Foremost, we shouldn’t be like them, of whom the Psalmist warned about with these words: "The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers. Those the lord blesses will possess the land, but those he curses will die.” (Psalms 37:21, 22 NLT)
As children of God, who are saved by the shed blood of Christ Jesus through faith in Him, we should not make vows to another to trick them. Every vow we make is a vow unto God. It must be honored, as it is written: "When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.” (Ecclesiastes 5:4, 5 ESV)

Proverbs 20:15 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“There is gold and a multitude of rubies, But the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” (Proverbs 20:15 NKJV)
He gives us insight with the importance of possessing knowledge. It is easier to catch the beauty and value of gold and precious stones. They indeed provide instant gratification and feed intense desire for vanity. They are invaluable, that generations can benefit its legacy of wealth. These gems can last from generation to generations, indeed. They adorn and give physical beauty to those who possess them. But, they can be a source of envy and quarrel. Many families are broken as heirs wrestle amongst each other to get hold such precious heirlooms. Yes, precious it is indeed, but it won't last forever. It is still temporary! Scripture reminds: "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV)
Those gems are precious, but God's words declared by lips that speak knowledge is priceless, none compares. Knowledge comes in the gift of wisdom that God deposits in our hearts. As we look upon Him in reverent fear by faith in Christ Jesus, He who is the Almighty and the Creator, He gifts us with wisdom (Proverbs 2:6). That is so we, who are strangers in the world, can live victorious by the knowledge of Him and His Words.
Yes, through knowledge of Him leads every child of God by faith in Jesus to the unseen - that is life in godliness and joyful welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is written: “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:3, 5, 8, 10-11 NIV)

Proverbs 20:14 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says..
““It is good for nothing,” cries the buyer; But when he has gone his way, then he boasts.” (Proverbs 20:14 NKJV)
This states a fact, most people like to get an edge over another. The seller hypes his product even to the extent of using deceptive measures. And the buyer understates as best he could to wrestle a bargain. Then, when he gets it, he brags his exploits. This seems to be the norm everywhere you go. This brings to mind the picture of a wealthy man in a limo drawing a hard bargain over a peddler on push cart trying to make a living of his meager produce.
Everyone assumes everybody is unfair or just simply selfish. So, they wrangle hard to cut each other down to take something, instead of extending a blessing. This makes us think life isn't fair. Well, we are in the world! Who finds fairness in the world?
Yes, we are in the world. But, as children of God in Christ, we are not of the world (John 17:14). We are citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20). We are here as sojourners (Hebrews 11:13; 1 Peter 2:11). We are just passing through on our way to our kingdom of citizenship. We are set for the kingdom of our Father which is in heaven, we being His children by grace through faith in Jesus (Galatians 3:26-29).
Being heaven's own, we are to behave like one. We are to pattern our living the kingdom way, while we wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ who will receive us unto Him (John 14:3). Apostle Paul warns us earnestly with these words: "Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”(1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NLT)

Proverbs 20:13 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.” (Proverbs 20:13 NKJV)
This passage simply commands: get up and do something! Diligence rewards. Slothfulness penalizes. Slumber leads to physical and spiritual destitution - spiritual hunger and thirst. We are stirred to wake up and know that today is the day of salvation from starvation of the soul - the lack of spiritual bread of life. The Lord Jesus invites those who hunger to come to Him (John 6:35 ESV).
Sleepiness is mostly caused by over exhaustion over the trivial things in life. Even matters detrimental to life. Especially, those hidden activities in the dark, they drain you dry. Hence, Apostle Paul reminds every child of God by faith in Jesus: “But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!” (Romans 13:11-14 MSG)

Proverbs 20:12 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both.” (Proverbs 20:12 NKJV)It is time to say, Thank you Lord! You gave us our ears and our eyes for the lofty purpose and reason:
That we shall hear and listen;
That we shall see and perceive;
That we hear and see, New Things unfolding for us day by day in this new season!
Lord, we hear your assurance and see your abounding provision of grace through the finished work of Christ Jesus! By faith, we entrust our lives in His hands! And, we rise in each beautiful morning, a new day! A promise of a victorious day and prosperous season ahead of us!
We hear and see your pronouncements of promise for our good, and we perceive it ALL, as you declare: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV)

Proverbs 20:11 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
"Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right." (Proverbs 20:11 NKJV)
This passage reveals that a child is distinguished by his deeds - by what he does. And, so does every grown up person is. Yes, our deeds reveal our creed. Our bio unveils our credo. We express better who we are, not with what we tell, but with what we show. The tree is known by its fruits, as a man by his doings. Yes, even a young tree is identified by its first fruits, as a child by his childish ways.
Our faith is built up by what we allow ourselves to be exposed to day by day. Who we hang around with, speaks about our state of being and who we are. What is seen in our doing is often who are in our being. Yes, when we are innocent as a child, we do not know how to hide our true feelings and emotions. However, as we grow, we learn some craft in show and tell. Actors, they call it. Deceivers can be like a chameleon. They can be anything for the liking of their audience. Hence, the Lord Jesus declares this call of challenge in the scriptures. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3 NIV)
That's why as children of God, by faith in Jesus, we are commanded to meditate then teach His words and His commandments to our children. We are to immerse in God’s Words so that our biography and our theology, as well as that of our children, are in harmony with God's pure Words of truth.
God gave us these instructions to follow, as it is written: "Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-9 MSG)

Proverbs 20:10 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
“Diverse weights and diverse measures, They are both alike, an abomination to the Lord.” (Proverbs 20:10 NKJV)
This brings up an old art of deception and cheating, which makes us unsurprised as these are the same tools used by today's modern and high-tech generation of thieves. These evil tools came out from the root of all kinds of evil - the love of money.
When people's hearts are captured by money, then every kind of evils sprouts in every aspects of their lives. Evil schemes have no regard for decency. Deceivers do not honor relationships. It is better to have a cannibal for a neighbor, than a scammer. Cannibals hunt far away from their neighborhood. They don't eat neighbors. But scammers prefer to start with their next door friend. They even victimize their closest next of kin. For them everyone is prospective prey.
Yes, they cheat just anyone with every kind of scales and measures. And, their deeds are an abomination to God, this passage declares. But, it won't prosper them in this life and in the life to come. Time of reckoning won't delay its coming upon them who refuse to follow the honest way that leads to God's favors and blessings in this life and in eternity. God is calling, Stop! Take your eyes off the love of money! It is not the answer to all our troubles! Turn around and focus upon Jesus! Throw away the weights and measures of deception that only give momentary material edge! Let's join the righteous walk in God's way towards the land of milk and honey! A life destined for eternal gain!
Yes, let’s come to Jesus and receive His gift of righteousness in grace by faith. The scriptures promised, as King David testified: "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. He is ever lending generously, and his children become a blessing. Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.” (Psalm 37:25-29 ESV)

Proverbs 20:8-9 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!
When God says...
A king who sits on the throne of judgment, Scatters all evil with his eyes. Who can say, “I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin”? (Proverbs 20:8-9 NKJV)
He gives us an insightful reminder. An earthly king, who takes his role with serious devotion and integrity, winnows to sift the bad from the good when he sits in judgement. Yes, they run as fugitives from his sight. Yet, no one guilty escapes his eyes of equity.
The more so with the One and Only True Judge who is Jesus, when He takes His place on the judgement seat, He sees through the hearts of men. No one can stand before Him and say, I am pure - I have no sin. Scriptures tell us: "Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard," (Romans 3:23 NCV)
Maybe some slip off from the grip of earthly king's hand of judgement. Maybe some think they don't have to answer to anyone. Even if you don't believe heaven and hell; Even if you deny the Creator God; Even if you don’t accept you need a Savior; it does not change the truth. Everyone needs a savior. Each one will face the judgment seat of Christ.

So, it is best that we believe and make it our mission to labor to enter and rest in His grace for the pleasure of our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. We take to heart Apostle Paul's exhortation to the Corinthians: “Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:9-10 KJV)
And, we must remember, the works of God that we must do is to believe in Jesus. It is written: “Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (John 6:28-29 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!
