The Gospel of John 21:25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.” (John 21:25 KJV).

This concluding passage of the Gospel of John puts into perspective our abounding hope in the mighty works of Christ Jesus that could not all be recorded. The world could not contain it! Apostle John reveals that many remarkable events took place during the Lord’s physical ministry, most specially His post-resurrection works that were profoundly powerful for the records. The vast ocean of revelations about the Lord that were largely unrecorded, hinting at the depth and richness of His life’s works, transcend what had been captured in the Scriptures’ written form. All those works were accomplished for us so we can rest in His gift of grace by faith.

This final verse draws us to embrace the majesty of the Lord’s pervading grace over all the world and the infinite universe. It is a reassuring promise to grasp on, and to receive by faith. The miracles and teachings recorded for our knowledge in Christ Jesus is crucial for us to continue growing. It is written: "the Word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12), propelling us ever closer to our Lord. The seed of the Word we have, when sown in the soil of our heart, sprouts and grows. Even if one doesn't fully grasp every aspect of the Lord’s life, what's essential is the commitment to follow Him, which remains central to our faith. The Lord Jesus emphatically commanded Apostle Peter and all God’s redeemed: “you follow me.” (John 21:22). The essence of the Lord’s mission goes beyond mere historical record, urging believers to engage deeply with their faith and intimacy with the risen Lord Jesus Christ.

All that is written in the Scriptures are enough for us to seize, receive and hold on, to be transformed in the likeness of Him who created and redeemed us; so we can become co heirs with Christ Jesus (Romans 8:17). The fullness of the Lord is uncontainable and unfathomable for all the earth. Faith is all we need in what has been recorded, for it is written: “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” (Psalms 145:3 NIV).

And I say, AMEN!
