The Gospel of Luke 1:36-37 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:36-37 KJV).

Responding to Mary’s troubled innocent thoughts, and wonder of how this message she’s been told can be so in her virgin state, Angel Gabe said to her “check on your barren cousin Elizabeth. She’s six months pregnant in her old age!” In a way, he asserts that “with God, there is nothing impossible!”

This is such a reassuring promise for us all, in what ever state we are in, in all issues of living. What seems totally absurd or hopeless or inconceivable or preposterous in our human perspective is totally way far lower than the boundless view and thoughts of God. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. The Lord instructed prophet Isaiah, to tell the people who were once in a state of wonder: “I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.” God’s Decree. “For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.” (Isaiah 55:8-11 MSG).

There is power in God’s spoken Words. The same power we have been given, having been created and restored in His image as we believe and put our faith in Christ Jesus. When we declare with faith like He does, things that are not as though they are, it comes to pass. It is by faith in God alone that Mary shall subserviently bear a Child in her womb. Scriptures affirm: “Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.” (Romans 4:16-17 NIV).

And I say, AMEN!
