When God Says …
“Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?” (Luke 12:24 KJV).
With this verse, the Lord Jesus uses the example of ravens that do not have any idea about sowing and reaping, yet survive without storing food, to illustrate that humans, as God’s creative masterpiece, are of greater worth and will be cared for. Hence, this is profoundly reminding us that we are more precious in the eyes of God. He looks at us by His grace and love to give His unmerited favor, for us to receive not by works to gain rewards, but as gift of grace.
Now, restored in God’s grace by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord, having access to all unmerited heavenly favors, we are made heirs of Abraham to enjoy His blessings under the covenant of the gospel of the grace of God. It’s by the grace of God that Abraham was called by God who responded purely in faith (Genesis 12:1-4). Hence, now as we respond and have our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, Scriptures affirm: “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29 NIV).
And, eternally we are declared as it is written: “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:16-17 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
