When God Says …
“An angry man stirreth up strife, And a furious man aboundeth in transgression.” (Proverbs 29:22 KJV)
Anger ruins people's lives. It is a catalyst of high population in prisons all over the world. Core relationships of families and friendships are broken, because of this dreadful expression of emotion. And, many lives are lost, too, because of anger. Wherever and whenever angry people are present, they stir up strife. There are only two options to stay away from strife - get rid of them who are full of wrath [by keeping them behind bars] or steer clear their path and proximity.
The Scriptures reveal that not all anger is sin. Anger against wicked and vicious acts, especially sinful acts and ungodliness, are holy. But, if it is nurtured to linger and infects your being, it could lead to sin. Especially, when the devil gets in to gain a foothold on it. God's holy Word reminds - “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” (Ephesians 4:26-27 NIV).
And, as children of God by faith in Christ Jesus through His grace, we have this guidance to live by: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31-32 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
