Proverbs 30:26 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“The conies are but a feeble folk, Yet make they their houses in the rocks;” (Proverbs 30:26 KJV)

Another small and fragile creatures which Agur considers as wise, are the conies - a kind of rabbit. They are not only small, but feeble and helpless. They are vulnerable to a variety of predators. Without ability to defend themselves, other than speed of retreat, these creatures need wisdom.

And wisdom, they have! God gave them wisdom. He takes care of them, as He takes care all of His creation - the lilies in the field, the birds in the sky - all of us! (Matthew 6:26) ... most especially we, we are His beloved masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10).

In their frailty, the conies find their way to settle in the right dwelling for their protection and safety. They make their abodes on the crags of the rocks in mountain clefts, where they can run swiftly to hide in every sign of danger. This is a good reminder for us to build our house on the rock of the holy Word of God. It’s a place where the presence of the Lord is - a place of refuge in times of trouble. Yes, we are to build our house in His Word, as Lord Jesus said: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
