Proverbs 29:24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says…

“Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: He heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.” (Proverbs 29:24 KJV)

This puts us in the know that being an accomplice or aiding and abetting a crime and a sin manifests hatred to one's own soul. You make yourself the enemy to your own well-being. It is an act of stepping on the line of fire. Knowingly or unknowingly stealing or lying or cheating or any action to harm others, works against the health of your soul. It is an act of hostility to yourself and to everyone around you.

This deals with being an accomplice to a crime before the fact - being a witness in the process of commission, and after the fact - in a court setting. One who keeps silent and refuses to get involved. One who ‘bewrayeth it not’ and won't refute false testimonies against the truth is a curse to harm the victim - one whose property, dignity or life has been stolen. This person is guilty as the criminal is. He is a partner in crime and a harm to himself, this passage reveals.

The Lord therefore, reminds to affirm the beauty of being members of the body of Christ Jesus, resting in His grace through faith in Him. We are called upon to authenticity. We are expected to get involved by speaking the truth. He exhorts us with these words: “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.” (Ephesians 4:25 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
