The Gospel of John 17:24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17:24 KJV).

In this passages of the Lord’s High Priestly prayer, we see Him pleads with the Father. He asks the Father to give the disciples, and by extension us-who would believe in the their words of testimony about Him, the ability to fully understand and appreciate His glory. That’s His divine nature and power; essentially to experience the Son and the Father’s greatness firsthand. These reveal a profound pronouncement for us to know that He prayed so the disciples and we, who believe, can be with Him where He is and see the glory that the Father gave Him, out of His love, even before the foundation of the world.

As recipients of His grace, being born again by faith in the risen Christ Jesus, He wants us to be with Him. And, we are. Not because of us, but because Him. We are the Father’s love gift to the Son. This prayer was fulfilled by the Lord’s finished work on the cross. It is written: “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-" (Ephesians 2:6-8 NIV). It is because of His love, as apostle John affirmed: “By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
