The Gospel of Luke 24:32 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32 KJV).

This reveals the profound inner transformation that happens when people see Grace who is our Lord Jesus Christ unveiled through the Word of God rather than viewing the Scriptures as a list of rules. When the Lord walked with the two disciples incognito on the road to Emmaus, He began opening the Scriptures with Moses and the prophets to explain things concerning Himself (Luke 24:27) that set the disciples’ heart burning. Their burning heart comes from discovering Christ's grace and personal love, not from legalistic regulations or intellectual knowledge.

The disciples’ state of heart was sad and confused after they left Jerusalem having witnessed the crucifixion. Hence, a heart "burning within" is the Lord's antidote to depression, fear, and mourning. With their knowing that our Lord Jesus is near and listening, resting in His grace brings peace and joy.

It is, therefore, important that believers should chase after our Lord Jesus Christ Himself (the "Healer" and "Blesser") rather than just seeking His gifts, healing, or answers to problems. When Christ is placed at the center of your life, everything else falls into its right place. This Apostle Paul testifies in his epistle, as it is written: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”(Galatians 2:20).

And I say, AMEN!
