The Gospel of John 16:23-24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:23-24 KJV).

In these passages the Lord Jesus Christ following through the disciples’ confusion and failure to understand the truths He revealed to them, assured them that when the Holy Spirit comes they need not have to seek clarification from Him for anything anymore. The Holy Spirit will reveal to them all truths (John 16:13). And, that’s true to us too, as we believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and be born again. He will send us the Holy Spirit to be our advocate, our comforter, our guide and our teacher. He abides in us. He will make us His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19).

The Holy Spirit helps us navigate our living here on this earth. He guides us in our decisions and actions. For our every need, with His unction we will know where to go, who to ask and how to ask. Knowing now that our source for everything is from above, we always look to our source and ask the Father in the name of Christ Jesus, of whom we are in proximity. We call to Him and cry ABBA Father (Romans 8:15). We will receive what we ask in fullness of joy. In the finished work on the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by His grace through faith in Him, we are now seated in heavenly places with our risen Saviour. It is written: “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” (Ephesians 2:4-6 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
