When God Says …
“These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” (John 16:25-28 KJV).
The Lord Jesus Christ, in the process of revealing truths from heaven to the world, used parables to keep the truth hidden from those who are perishing (2 Corinthians 4:3). For us who seek the truth, it enables us to see deeper spiritual things in the physical eyes through the lens of the spirit. He expressed things of heaven in relatable stories of human life experiences to help those who listen connect with the truth and receive the message in its fullness. On the part of the disciples, the unfolding of the Lord’s mission was still halfway through. His mission being without precedence is beyond the apostles' human mind to fathom. Hence, for them to fully grasp it required of them to witness the completion of His mission. When that moment of time comes, theirs and our understanding radically changes as the Lord will show them and us plainly through the Holy Spirit the truth in its completeness.
By then, the Lord reveals that we will have total access to the Father and ask in His name - Jesus Christ. His name is above all names. In the name of Jesus every knee shall bow (Philippians 2:10-11). He no longer needs to ask the Father in our behalf to give what we ask for. The Father sees in us His Son in whom He is well pleased (Matthew 3:17) who took the sacrifice on the cross in our stead.
Yes, the Father sees in us His Son! It is no longer us who lives, but Christ who lives in us, the moment we believed and have been born again. This, apostle Paul testified, as it is written: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
