When God Says …
“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”(Luke 21:36 KJV).
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ conveys this dire reminder to all His redeemed in regard His divine promise of Pre-Tribulation Rapture. This assures the Church to be spared from the coming Tribulation. This "Church" refers all believers that totally depend on His grace. This is not a building nor a religious enterprise nor religious organization. He puts us in the know of being "counted worthy". We, rely solely on His finished work on the cross, not on our personal performance. And, He encourages all believers to look forward to His return with joy rather than fear.
We are reminded that being “counted worthy”, is not by our merit. It is by what our Lord Jesus did on the cross. By believing in His grace, we are unconditionally declared righteous by being imputed with His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). Hence, your worthiness to escape judgment is solely based on our Lord’s shed blood on the cross.
We are to ardently pray to "escape all these things" which the Lord warned the disciples, then, and us, now. The rapture is our only way of escape, just as God made a way for Noah - to escape the flood, and Lot to escape the destruction of Sodom. We, the church who rest in His grace will be raptured off the earth to "stand before the Son of man" before the wrath of judgments hit. This is our “Blessed Hope”, where our Lord Jesus Christ (the Bridegroom) will suddenly catch us up, His Bride (the Church) into heaven before the devastating period of the antichrist's rampage on earth.
This promise, therefore, is an anchor of comfort and hope for us rather than a warning of fear. Our focus should rest on the unconditional love and grace of God. Hence, as we stand with the Bridegroom, Scriptures proclaim: “Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.” (Revelation 19:7-8ESV).
