When God says...
“He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.” (Proverbs 14:29 NKJV)He cautions us to master our emotions. There is great cost allowing our feelings run wild. In this world our emotional gauge will always be tested. Its wide dashboard is filled with so many buttons. There are many fingers around us eager to push one. The enemy of our soul stalks us all the time and uses even our loved-ones to annoy us. He catches us at our awkward moment when we wander out of the cover of God's love, grace and living Word. Out there, without the leading of the Holy Spirit one is surely exposed to be carried away by sudden emotional outburst which dignifies folly and insults wise demeanor.
Wisdom tells us to magnify love, grace and attitude of gratitude. We are to get rid of wrath and hatred. As children of God by grace through faith in Jesus, scriptures instruct us: "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” (James 1:19, 20 NIV)
Apostle Paul further edifies us with these words: "I always thank my God for you because of the grace God has given you in Christ Jesus. I thank God because in Christ you have been made rich in every way, in all your speaking and in all your knowledge.” (1 Corinthians 1:4, 5 NCV)
