When God says...
“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” (Proverbs 15:4 NKJV)He continues to impel us to use our tongue as a source of life giving sustenance. When harnessed well with wisdom from God's word, with its wild tendency of fiery passion, our tongue can be a nourishing power for life. Its dictum has to be regularly refined by filling our hearts with regular intake of God's word.
In as much as we are still in this world, we have to keep our distance from the distortion and perverseness of its values. We are to keep ourselves sheltered in God's presence - in our meditations, in our prayers, in our worships and our times of solitude with God.
Yes, being saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, let us fill our hearts with the abundant treasure of God's living Word, as Lord Jesus revealed in this truth: "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." (Luke 6:45 KJV)
And I say, AMEN!
