When God says...
“Hell and Destruction are before the Lord; So how much more the hearts of the sons of men.“(Proverbs 15:11 NKJV)
He intimates upon us that, He being the Omniscient and Omnipresent God that He is, He knows the enormity of the dangers of hell and eternal death. At the same time, He sees what's in our heart - our deepest secret and our weakest vulnerability. And, He knowing the contents of our hearts, when we wallow in sin headed to the unimaginable dangers of Hell, because of His matchless love for us - we being His creative masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), He sent His only Son our Lord Jesus Christ to save us. He is the reason for this season's celebration.
As heaven is real, hell is real. Whether one believes it or not, does not change the reality and truth of its existence. That’s a reality as clear as a sunny day. His word warns that people who stray out of God's grace by doing things against His ways is headed for destruction in hell. They will have a taste of hell even in this life in their troubles being the consequence of wayward actions. Not all problems are caused by the devil and his minions. It can be caused by man’s wrong actions or failure to do what is right. Doing right is believing in Jesus (John 6:29), relying in His grace (2 Corinthians 12:9) and total dependence on the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11-14).
Trouble is not what God intends for us in this physical dimension. His intention is to prosper us, to be full of vigor and to be full of peace. His plan for us is to be blessed to be a blessing. When people bless people, people bless people. Hell is defeated. There is joy even in unpleasant condition. There is harmony even in the midst of chaos. Love reigns when Jesus is seated on the throne of our hearts. And, trouble becomes the refining fire that brings purity to our spirit.
As we accept Him our personal Lord and Savior, be born again in spirit and transformed, He gives us the right to be children of God (John 1:12). As His children, we have these words of guidance written in our hearts: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34, 35 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!
