The Gospel of Luke 2:43-45 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.” (Luke 2:43-45 KJV).

These passages throw a glimpse of the Lord’s childhood life growing like every young man progressing through the dynamics of living in a human form. The event of Him staying behind in Jerusalem after the Passover Feast seem to look like an innocent punk on His earthly parents. But the truth of the matter is, that was a call for needed steps to be taken towards His mission on this planet as we already have known by hindsight. On ground zero as it transpired Mary and Joseph’s concerns to return and seek Him out were real and reasonable as parents with physical limitations. They have overlooked the reality and truth of who this young man they’re appointed to care for. He was appointed to be born so He could live a truly human experience. He was appointed to a mission to die so we can live.

He stripped Himself of all heavenly nature and privileges to take a full earthly nature to live like us. That’s the only way He could save us by being like us so that by the supply of His grace He can pay ransom for us by taking our place on the tree so that we can be like Him. Hence, these passages show His true image as man, living as every human does.

As God’s children through grace by faith in Christ Jesus, Scriptures remind us this: “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (Philippians 2:5-8 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
