When God Says …
“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.” (Luke 4:14-15 KJV).
The Lord’s example of being equipped with God’s Words as our first weapon of choice reminds us that when we face down the devil's attacks, schemes, and temptations, we can emerge victorious and stronger with the Spirit's power at work within us! While we don't like periods of trial, God can use it to our benefit, His glory, and the devil's defeat, as the Lord did during His 40 days of trial. Scriptures remind us to -“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” (James 1:2-3 NIV).
So, we don't give up in difficult times. We stand firm and always keep our faith strong by resting in the Lord’s grace. We must consciously keep in our hearts God’s guiding Words, as it is written: “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 NLT). We will come out victorious and accomplish the mission God has appointed for us on this planet, as the Lord Jesus did launching out His ministry with power.
Knowing that God will provide us with a way of escape and the power of His Spirit to overcome the challenges we face, let us stand rooted in our faith. He assures us with these words: “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
