When God Says …
“And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.” (John 2:8 KJV)
This passage conveys the assurance that when we respond to the Lord's Words of instruction, and position before Him our receptacles of blessings, expectant and without hesitation, our needs would be supplied. With trust, our receptacles are filled to the brim. Our every need are supplied and met, as when they, the servers draw from it, the party's need was supplied and met. It should be noted that the pots were filled with water.
When we draw from the water in our vessel (yes, that's you and I - we are the pots) and present it to God, we'll never be in want. Thirst is quenched. Water is the metaphor for God's holy and written Words (Ephesians 5:26) and His Word is the Spirit of the Lord (John 6:63). The Word is the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1 & 14). Hence, we are to posture our ears, mind and heart to receive His Words. It is the water we drink that never runs out. Lord Jesus declared this truth to the Samaritan woman at the well. “Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”” (John 4:13-14 ESV)
And I say, AMEN!
