The Gospel of John 12:30-31 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.” (John 12:30-31 KJV).

The voice from heaven is for the sakes of the world. For not listening to it, they reject the Lord Jesus Christ. In so doing, they're judged. The Lord's death on the cross meted judgment on them, as He paid the price for their sin. The world, therefore, judges itself for its rejection of Christ Jesus. The cross of the Son of God is their "judgment”. It struck a fatal blow to the prince of this world. Along with him are all those who choose to be held hostage by his deceit through the trappings of the world and pretenses of religion.

Satan’s authority over the world has been conquered. The world is now delivered out of the domain of darkness if only they come to grace by faith in Christ. Evil though, in its last ditch effort to drag along many with him to his eternal end, is still active in the world under the shadow of darkness. But, he is already disarmed of its power against those who are shielded by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Through the Lord's finished work on the cross, we overcome. “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4 ESV).

Yes, we are still fighting a battle in this world. But, our battle is not for victory. In Christ Jesus, we are now fighting from victory. It is actually a lopsided battle we are fighting in our favor. In Christ, victory is already won! “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” (Colossians 2:15 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
