When God Says …

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” (John 12:24 KJV).

This passage presents a paradoxical reality of death bringing forth life. And the truth of physical death leading one to a spiritual life is the essence of the Lord's mission coming into the earth He created to be among us. It's the core of the message He revealed to a Pharisee named Nicodemus who came to Him one night. 'Except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.' (John 3:3). We must transcend from a carnal state into a life in the spiritual state, which the Lord illustrated to Nicodemus using the physical process of being born. That's looking beyond what we see into things unseen that are heavenly. We move from things below to things above in God's grace by faith in Christ Jesus.

Here in this passage, the Lord Jesus Christ using the regeneration of a seed falling in the ground as illustration, He foretells the necessity of His own physical death. His death in the flesh brings forth to harvest fruits of many souls to be saved. He is conveying the promise that as He dies in the flesh, gets in the grave and rises again in a glorified body, just like a seed sown in the ground sprouting to bring forth fruits, we, by believing in Him shall not be in lack. We shall abound with many fruits in all things. Yes, by faith in our resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, we have this assurance: “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
