The Gospel of John 12:42-43 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” (John 12:42-43 KJV).

Are you afraid to manifest your faith in your Creator and Savior? Is it due to fear of losing your place in the religion or denomination or sect you've been born to and raised? These are self-test questions one should seriously ask, so as not be like those religious Jews who were afraid of being thrown off their synagogue during the days the Lord Jesus walked in the flesh.

Interjecting nevertheless in these passages, alerts us that not every single person of the nation Israel rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. We have the young disciples of which Twelve of them were chosen by the Lord as His inner circle apostles. We know of the siblings Mary, Martha and Lazarus the conspicuous believers of the Lord and many others, the sinners and the sick who were restored that followed Him. They were from the house of Israel. Yes, there were few who were non-Jews, of course.  It is the religious and political leaders of the nation that disdained the Lord and who ultimately have Him crucified. They chose to hold on to their religion, their positions and possessions to be their God, instead of the One who created them and who came to save them from the captivity of sin. Yes, some of them believed but stayed in their closet, all because they love the praise of men and the allure of the world than the affirmation and praise of God.

This is a tacit reminder to us all not to be captivated by the things and trappings of the world, especially the deception of religion, lest these hinder us to see the best of heaven. As children of God, born again by faith in Christ Jesus, we must keep it rooted in our being, Scriptures say: “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.” (Philippians 3:20-21 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
