MERRY CHRISTMAS 2014

When God says.......

The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29 NKJV)

He affirms the wicked, in the state of sinfulness, is far from God. His prayer could not reach God due to the barrier of sin. That's the state of the world then, as today. And God, driven by His love of the world, to reconcile His prized creation to Himself, out of compassion He came born like us to make us righteous in His eyes and relate with us.

The scriptures declare as it is written: 'All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).' (Matthew 1:22, 23 ESV)

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!

As we all enjoy this season's celebration of the advent of our Savior into the world that He created, I pray that we and our household will be filled with blessings, favors, good health, joy, love, peace and prosperity.

The Bible says:
"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace goodwill toward men!' [Luke 2:13-14 KJV)

The angel and heavenly host celebrate!
And, we celebrate because:
'THE SON OF GOD BECAME THE SON OF MAN THAT WE THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF MEN MIGHT BECOME SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD!'

I love you all!
In Jesus' name.
And I say ... AMEN!

When God Says .......

He who earnestly seeks good finds favor, But trouble will come to him who seeks evil. (Proverbs 11:27 NKJV)

He affirms that anyone who seeks will find and will never be disappointed. Those who seek trouble will end up in trouble. Those who seek defect and something wrong with their health and spend much with hi-tech tests to probe their body will find what they look for.

God has set the system - when you seek you will find. When you ask you will be given. When you knock, the door will be opened unto you. Hence, one must set in his mind and heart to seek only good, favors and blessings - the things that are of God.

There once was a young fool who embarked on a journey to seek his fortune. He immediately came upon an old man who invited him to live with him in his castle to be heir of his vast empire as he has no descendants. But he refused, saying 'thank you but no sir. I am on a journey to search for my fortune.'  Off he goes on, which lead him to stumble upon a young beautiful heiress who invited him to be her husband,  to share with her vast wealth, as she had no one with her. But again he refused, to continue in his search for his fortune which took him face to face of a hungry wolf, who asked him: how have you been young man? To which he replied with pride, 'I am in search for my fortune, Mr. Wolf. Along my way here, I met an old man who wanted me to inherit his vast empire, and a young wealthy heiress who invited me to be her husband.  But, I refused them both.  You see Mr. Wolf, I am on a journey to seek my fortune.'  With that, the hungry wolf leaped with joy and said 'what a fortune indeed for me!'

Let's not be like that fool, who missed and just passed by the fortunes he had encountered and ended up in misfortune. Let's be wise. Let's seek first thing first. Lord Jesus gives this command: "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 NIV)

And I say ...  AMEN!

When God Says .......

A good man obtains favor from the Lord, But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn. (Proverbs 12:2 NKJV)

He makes us aware that a man whose heart is set upon the Lord in faith always comes upon His throne of grace to obtain favor. He is a man who knows that his faithful God always grant His favors to those who rely only in Him. He is a good man not of what he has done but of what The Lord Jesus whom he trusts has done for him. His heart's desire is to glorify His Lord, not as the wicked whose intention is to satisfy the desires of his flesh. Wrong motives tilt the spout of blessings away from a corrupt vessel. Scripture says: "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (James 4:3 NIV)

But for those who ask in the right posture, He surrounds him with abundant blessings, as the psalmist declared - "For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with you]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor). (Psalm 5:12 AMP)

And I say ... AMEN!

When God says .......

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation. By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. (Proverbs 11:10, 11 NKJV)

This reflects striking difference between the impact of righteousness and wickedness on the community. When the work of darkness infects the land, nuisance of crime plagues the community like what's happening in our midst. There is fear. People are tense. Pressure is strong. When the agents of wickedness are driven off, people take a fresh breathe of air.

When the righteous reigns a wave of positive change arrives. God's favors advance in their stage of influence. The blessings of the righteous are contagious. Their prosperity reverberates in the land. People are relieved from pressure. Fear is cast out. Peace prevails. God is exalted.

As people of God, we are called to be agents of favors and blessings. Lord Jesus declared these words - “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV)

When God says .......

Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death. (Proverbs 11:4 NKJV)

He ushers in for our attention, "The Day of Wrath”, that is the day of final accounting to God, the divine Judge. Riches won't do us any good. In the gospel Lord Jesus gave these words - "And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:16-21 NIV)

Riches make a person self-centered. Everything around him becomes "I" and "My". He becomes proud and arrogant. He forgets God the source and provider. Man becomes a fool in his riches.

All the riches in the world save no one from the wrath of God. In order to be saved, we must be washed in the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, and then we will be put right in the sight of God. Jesus Christ brings us life, not death. He brings us healing, not disease. "By His stripes we are healed." As His redeemed, we are saved from the wrath to come.

Apostle Paul assures us with these words- "For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. (1 Thessalonians 5:9, 10 ESV)

And I say ... AMEN!

When God says .......

When God says.......

If the righteous will be recompensed on the earth, How much more the ungodly and the sinner. (Proverbs 11:3 NKJV)

He reminds us that everything we do in this life, be it righteously with God or wickedly against the will of God, there are consequences both here on earth and in eternity. The godly things we do abiding in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ by faith calls for pleasant rewards and blessings while we live this life day by day. Evil things and whatever a person does wickedly under the cover of darkness results in unpleasant reparation. That's why we see prisons overflowing - rehab centers and other houses of reform are full to its seam.

Then, as we step from this physical life into the spiritual realm, eternal reward awaits those who remain in The Lord. And, eternal judgment awaits those who stay in their evil ways, stubborn not to take the road of repentance.

So, as we have been warned, let's be conscious and mindful, time is coming when The Lord will give His last judgment upon everyone. Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words: "So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:9, 10 NIV)

When God says .......

He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind, And the fool will be servant to the wise of heart. (Proverbs 11:29 NKJV)

Only a fool troubles his own domain - his house, his work place, his business and all others placed under his control. For a person of common sense, the house is his/her primary project to make it a home - A place of comfort, A place to run to in times of trouble. Neglect over that role, let alone making it a place of trouble, gives him his due reward - the wind, or if there would have been anything, would be blown in the wind.

As believers in the Lord Jesus we are to be wise, surrender control over our home to Him. Not like a fool who serves and trusts only in man, even if he is wise in heart. Allow God to build our house, as it is written: "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain." (Psalm 127:1 ESV)

And I say ... AMEN!

When God Says .......

He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like foliage. (Proverbs 11:28 NKJV)

It's a pop-up alert not to put our trust in the material things of the world. They are temporal, fleeting and unreliable. They come and go at the wrong timing. They are not around when direly needed.

Rather, we put our trust in The Lord who is the source of everything, as the righteous does. Let's trust in the giver, not the gift. His provisions do not run out. He provides us richly with material things as tools to be a blessing, useful for investment in the physical for spiritual returns. Apostle Paul urged us with these words: "As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good things under grace, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (1Timothy 6:17-19 ESV)

When God Says .......

When God says .......

A quarrelsome wife is as annoying as constant dripping on a rainy day. Stopping her complaints is like trying to stop the wind or trying to hold something with greased hands. (Proverbs 27:15, 16 NLT)

He gives the unpleasant descriptive picture of a contentious spouse. Not good at all. Hence, as children of God we must not be one. We ought to be temperate, gentle, caring, patient, submissive and foremost loving to our spouses. These are to be expressed in proactive way, rather than reactive. What that means, is we don't wait for our partners to do it first so we can respond. We race to be first to love, to submit, to bear  patience, to care, to handle gently, to temperance.

It is written, we ought to: "Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word." (Ephesians 5:1, 2, 21, 22, 25, 26 NLT)

When God says .......

When God says .......

"He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning,
It will be counted a curse to him." (Proverbs 27:14 NKJV)

He re-emphasizes the virtue of pure manifestation of blessing others for God's glory. Specially, blessings extended to fellow believers. Here the warning is made more forceful. When it is extended for self-glory, it is counted as curse against the giver.

To position ourselves in line to receive God's favors and blessings, it is always wise to follow His word how to bless others, as written in the gospel of Mathew.

"When you do something for someone else, don’t call attention to yourself. You’ve seen them in action, I’m sure—‘playactors’ I call them—treating prayer meeting and street corner alike as a stage, acting compassionate as long as someone is watching, playing to the crowds. They get applause, true, but that’s all they get. When you help someone out, don’t think about how it looks. Just do it—quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God, who conceived you in love, working behind the scenes, helps you out."(Mathew 6:2-4 The Message).

Let's be a blessing for God's glory!

And I say AMEN!

When God says .......

When God says .......

A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself. The simple pass on and are punished. (Proverbs 27:12 Msg)

Reminds us not to be like an easy going person who wanders unmindful into the devils path. Or, even knowingly and mindful foraying the devil's domain with the belief of his own strength. Like surfing through tempting sites. Going along invitations to drinking hang outs, strip clubs and the likes, thinking they can be shared by the word of God. That's crap! It is written - " “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." (Mathew 7:6 NKJV)

Let's be like a prudent man, who recognizes that, he has a choice. Adam had a choice. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:16-17 NKJV).

We know Adam did not duck when the devil came. Let's be prudent and duck to escape punishment.

When God says .......

When God says .......

Open rebuke is better Than love carefully concealed. (Proverbs 27:5 NKJV).

He reminds us that correction is manifestation of true love. Secret love is tantamount to pandering-driven by fear. Fear of unfounded perception of losing. Open rebuke bears more force & accountability. It empowers application, specially when gentle correction remained unheeded.

For those who require chastisement a receptive heart is essential. One very good example to mirror on is when Paul rebuked Peter in the book of Galatians chapter 2. Peter displayed meekness when Paul rebuked him - "But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong. When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions? (Galatians 2:11, 14 NLT).

Let's be thankful for open rebuke. Somebody cares. We are loved.

When God says .......

When God says .......

A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, But a fool’s wrath is heavier than both of them. (Proverbs 27:3 NKJV) .

He alerts us that dealing with a fool is an immense burden to bear. It's beyond compare. A fool's reasoning is out of godly reason and headed down the extreme deep end of the ditch. Exasperating!

In the message Bible the verse goes this way :-  Carrying a log across your shoulders while you’re hefting a boulder with your arms Is nothing compared to the burden of putting up with a fool. (Proverbs 27:3 MSG).

The fool mentioned here is not the one who roams like a bum. Or, one who looks harmless or helpless. This is who is aggressive and rebellious against God. One who brushes off God's word. One who is condescending and looks at self better than others. Unteachable.

That's the fool we ought to stay clear of. And, ought not be like them. Instead, we ought to be wise, and as it is written - "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5 NKJV)

Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips. (Proverbs 27:2 NKJV)

He exposes most people's secret cravings for fame and recognition. Yes, most if not all, enjoy ovation that they can't wait for others' accolade. They rush to take the honor to honor their selves.

But, the gospel of Luke writes - "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11 NKJV).

Our attitude should be as what Lord Jesus said in the gospel of Mathew: "When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. (Matthew 6:2-4 NLT).

When God says .......

When God says .......

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth. (Proverbs 27:1 NKJV).

He reminds us that HE is in control. We are not. It is for our good to entrust in Him all our plans, and full spectrum of our lives. He knows best to direct what to do and where to go. He sees the end from the beginning. If we boast, let's boast in His will and the amazing things He has done and will do in our lives. His sustaining LOVE!

In the Book of James, he writes: "Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. (James 4:13-16 NIV).

Let's always declare and trust His will be done for us.

When God says .......

When God says .......

Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, And he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him. (Proverbs 26:27 NKJV)

He warns that the fate we plan for others comes home to us. Most specially, plan against those who keep themselves under the shadow of God's protection.

The fate one would intend for them will backfire, like what happened to Haman, in the Book of Esther chapter 7.  "Now Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said to the king, “Look! The gallows, fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke good on the king’s behalf, is standing at the house of Haman.” Then the king said, “Hang him on it!” So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath subsided." (Esther 7:9, 10 NKJV).

On the other hand, if we plan to bless others, and bless them indeed, not only blesses them, but us as well. And, if the blessing is not accepted by them, it will bounce back to us.

Let's then go, blessing here, blessing there. We can never out-bless God. It is written: "And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT)

Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to kindle strife. (Proverbs 26:20, 21 NKJV)

He reminds us for caution, when malicious gossip and quarrelsome forces are at work, discord and tension follow its wake. Nothing good or beneficial gained out of its presence. Those forces are rooted in negative, cynical and stubborn heart. They must be rooted out and stopped.

Rid of the wood and the charcoal. Instead, Apostle Peter writes:-  Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here’s what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you’re worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he’s asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things. (1 Peter 3:8-12 MSG)

Let us therefore migrate from the dominion of contention into the sanctuary of God's throne of grace.

When God says .......

As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly. Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (Proverbs 26:11, 12 NKJV)

He is challenging us strongly not to act like fools. Who keep doing the same foolish mistake, perhaps expecting a different result. (No it won't happen.) As person with right mind, we know the result. It's gross. As the word says - fools are like dogs - just want to return to their own vomit.

We should not act like fools because of pride. Or, be liken to a man wise in His own eyes. Let's be wise through God's eyes by: First and foremost - So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” (Luke 10:27 NKJV)

Surrender our will to Him. Be teachable. Soak in His Word. Learn to walk wisely. Be instep with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Reject folly. Embrace wisdom.
