Proverbs 11:12-13 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace. A talebearer reveals secrets, But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter."(Proverbs 11:12-13 NKJV)

Silence with attentive ear is a catalyst of good relationship. It preserves true friendship. It is an evidence of wisdom. A man of understanding, who has rule over his own spirit, when he is provoked, he holds his peace. He neither gives vent to his passion nor kindles the passion of others by any opprobrious language. With sincerity, He that is of a faithful spirit is true not only to his own promise, but to the interest of his friend. He conceals every matter, which if divulged, may turn out to the prejudice of his neighbor.

This prudent friendly concealment is that of taming the tongue. Speaking scornfully of a man to his face is foolish and void of wisdom. A man's folly is known when he despises his neighbor - calls him Raca, and You Fool! And, upon the least provocation tramples upon him. Speaking spitefully of a man behind his back. A tale-bearer, peddling stories from house to house to sow discord, reveals secrets which he has been entrusted with. He breaks the bond of friendship.

As believers in Jesus we are to love our neighbor. Yes, we are to love who Jesus loves - and, that's the world. It is written - "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:12, 13 NKJV)

When asked what's the greatest of the commandments: " Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:29-31 ESV)

Proverbs 11:10-11 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation. By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked." (Proverbs 11:10, 11 NKJV)

This reflects striking difference between the impact of righteousness and wickedness on the community and the nation. When the work of darkness infects the land, nuisance of crime plagues the community like what's happening in our midst. There is fear. People are tense. Pressure is heavy and strong. When the agents of wickedness are driven off, people take a fresh breath of air.

When the righteous reigns a wave of positive change arrives. God's favors advance in their stage of influence. The blessings of the righteous are contagious. Their prosperity reverberates in the land. People are relieved from pressure. Fear is cast out. Peace ensues and prevails. God is exalted.

As people of God, we (every person who has the Lordship of Christ Jesus) are called and designed to be agents of favors and blessings. Lord Jesus declared these words - “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV)

Proverbs 11:9 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor. But, through knowledge the righteous will be delivered." (Proverbs 11:9 NKJV)

We are warned that a sanctimonious character could be embedded in our neighborhood. They are good pretenders, who blend wherever they are, like a chameleon. They can act like they are for you. They patronize your values, sadly by well-devised art of pretenses. The intent is to trip you off. Push you down flat on your face to ruin you. Ill-equipped, one would be at risk.

But, with knowledge, by right standing with God through faith in Christ Jesus, we are delivered from their destructive schemes. God equips us with wisdom and discerning spirit. His protection is over us. His Word promised, as it is written - "The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." Proverbs 11:8 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The righteous is delivered from trouble, And it comes to the wicked instead." (Proverbs 11:8 NKJV)

It is reminiscent to what happened with the Egyptian army who caught up and cornered the Israelites at the Red Sea after they have been brought out by Moses from slavery. The same sea that delivered the Israelites drowned the Egyptians. The righteous, whose trust is only in the Lord Jesus, operates under the cover of His grace.

Being righteous in the sight of God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, does not exempt us from trouble. We are still in the world. Trouble is the nature of the world. But, in the Lord we are at peace. Trouble falls on the wicked. Lord Jesus warned and promised us with these words - "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] (John 16:33 AMP)

Proverbs 11:7 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, And the hope of the unjust perishes." (Proverbs 11:7 NKJV)

Gives a stark reminder, this life is our only opportunity to prepare where to end up in eternity. There are only two places to choose - eternal life or eternal death. We see in these passages, that to die in your wickedness leaves no hope at all. But, the good news is, as long as there is breath in the body, man can repent and be saved. When he dies, not accepting Jesus as his Savior, his time is gone. He has no future to look forward to, only one to regret. Hell is awaiting him.

So, today is the time. Now is the moment to consciously settle it all. It is written - "For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV)

Let us, therefor do it now and declare, truly believing in our heart, with our mouth before God: 'Lord Jesus, I humble before you. I repent all my sins. I open my heart. I accept you as my Lord and my Savior, now and forever.' Now, we are saved! As it is written:” If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”(Romans 10:9 NIV)

Proverbs 11:5-6 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, But the unfaithful will be caught by their lust." (Proverbs 11:5, 6 NKJV)

Leads us to ask, who is blameless? Who is upright? Righteousness is by grace through faith in Jesus. It is written: "But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:21-24 NIV).

While, the wicked who chooses to reject Jesus falls, the righteous who trusts in Jesus is delivered. Apostle Paul assures us with these words-"He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us," (2 Corinthians 1:10 NIV)

Proverbs 11:4 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death." (Proverbs 11:4 NKJV)

He ushers in for our attention, "The Day of Wrath”, that is the day of final accounting at the judgement seat of God, the Divine Judge. Riches won't do us any good. In the gospel, Lord Jesus gave these words - "And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:16-21 NIV)

Riches make a person self-centered. Everything around him becomes "I" and "My". He becomes proud and arrogant. He forgets God, the source and provider. Man becomes a fool in his riches.

All the riches in the world saves no one from the wrath of God. In order to be saved, we must be washed by the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord in His grace by faith, and then we will be put right in the sight of God. The Lord Jesus Christ brings us life, not death. He brings us healing, not disease. "By His stripes we are healed." As His redeemed, we are saved from the wrath to come.

Apostle Paul assures us with these words- "For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him." (1 Thessalonians 5:9, 10 ESV)

Proverbs 11:3 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them." (Proverbs 11:3 NKJV)

He highlights the importance of the character quality in how we live. The Word of God is our only source to guide us and build a character for right living.

It is important for us to WATCH the words we hear; they become our thoughts. Watch our thoughts; they become our desires. Watch our desires: they become our declarations. Watch our declarations; they become our actions. Watch our actions; they become our habits. Watch our habits; they become our character. Watch our character; it becomes our destiny.

Godly virtues lead the upright to heavenly direction. Perversion leads only to destruction. Resting in God's grace by faith in Christ Jesus, Apostle Paul instructs us with these words - "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8, 9 ESV)

Proverbs 11:2 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom." (Proverbs 11:2 NKJV)

He warns there is dire consequence of pride. One such compelling example was Uzziah King of Israel. It is written - "In Jerusalem he made devices invented for use on the towers and on the corner defenses so that soldiers could shoot arrows and hurl large stones from the walls. His fame spread far and wide, for he was greatly helped until he became powerful. But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. Azariah the priest with eighty other courageous priests of the Lord followed him in. They confronted King Uzziah and said, “It is not right for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord. That is for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who have been consecrated to burn incense. Leave the sanctuary, for you have been unfaithful; and you will not be honored by the Lord God.” Uzziah, who had a censer in his hand ready to burn incense, became angry. While he was raging at the priests in their presence before the incense altar in the Lord ’s temple, leprosy broke out on his forehead. When Azariah the chief priest and all the other priests looked at him, they saw that he had leprosy on his forehead, so they hurried him out. Indeed, he himself was eager to leave, because the Lord had afflicted him. King Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. He lived in a separate house —leprous, and banned from the temple of the Lord. Jotham his son had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land. (2 Chronicles 26:15-21 NIV)

As a child of God by grace through faith in Jesus, we are to walk humbly. He gives us this caution - "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (Matthew 23:12 ESV)

Proverbs 11:1 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight." (Proverbs 11:1 NKJV)

He talks about measures we use in our daily affairs in life using the analogy of a scale used in commerce. This analogy reveals that there remains no change in people conducting business in false weights, today as with long ago.

Dishonest scale applies to personal measure of justice. How we make decisions that affect our life and others. In our conduct with our neighbor and fellowmen, there is no substitute for honesty. This false balance could relate to one's prejudice with others in terms of their status, their possessions, their ethnicity, intellectual level and any other manner we view them contrary to the grace of God. The scale we measure would be abominable before God whenever a trace of bias and prejudice exist. Fair and just weight we use pleases God.

Let justice and truth ever hold the scale; and always do to him what you would have them done to yourself. As it is written, Lord Jesus said - "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12 NIV)

Proverbs 10:31-32 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the perverse tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse." (Proverbs 10:31, 32 NKJV)

He reminds me and all to meditate and mutter the song of the psalmist, as it is written: "O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving kindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me." (Psalms 63:1-8 NKJV)

Proverbs 10:29-30 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not inhabit the earth." (Proverbs 10:29, 30 NKJV)

He promised we are strengthened if we remain in the way of The Lord - in the right way. Yes, that's doing His way - the Bible way, neither your way nor the wicked way nor any other way. The wicked can pretend doing God's way to set us up. They are workers of inequity. They come in sheep's clothing, but wolves inside. Religion also comes with stiff unbiblical ways with rules and rituals not of God. Some even come, teaching in the name of Christ Jesus. Apostle Peter warns us with these words: "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. (II Peter 2:1 NKJV)

God assures us that we'll never be removed, if we stay right with Him humbly by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus declares in the sermon of the mount - the meek shall inherit the earth. The wicked, who rebels against God has no future to look up to. By their unbelief they brought doom upon themselves. God proclaim His pledge with these words: - "For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalms 37:9-11 NKJV)

Proverbs 10:28 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The hope of the righteous will be gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish."(Proverbs 10:28 NKJV)

Apart from our Lord Jesus, there is no hope. He is the way, the truth and the life - no one can come to the Father except through Him, His holy and written word declares.

The warning is clear. The wicked is destined to perish and what he expects perishes, until he repents, turn away from wickedness and come to Jesus at the foot of the cross.

Jesus is the blessed hope for the world that He loves. He calls everyone to come to His throne of grace. He'll make us righteous in God's eyes if we accept Him into our hearts. We will be filled with gladness as we wait the blessed hope of His coming. As it is written - "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Proverbs 10:27 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The fear of the Lord prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened." (Proverbs 10:27 NKJV)

He reminds us to be always in the posture of reverent awe upon the Almighty God. This positive fear taps us in our source for victorious living. Through our worship, He channels us His wisdom, strength, peace, joy and all resources of heaven to keep us safe. We will have His assurance that He is with us to comfort us. We're not alone. We have help to keep us away from temptation, to overcome life of sin and drudgery in the world of deceptions and traps.

Life of wickedness takes away our peace and joy. It cuts away the hope to rise in eternal life with The Lord. Our fear of The Lord, secures us long life on earth transcending to life eternal. We are to fear nothing else but God. Lord Jesus said - "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28 NKJV)

Proverbs 10:26 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy man to those who send him." (Proverbs 10:26 NKJV)

This reminds us that slothfulness is as irritating and exasperating as a suffocating smoke to the eye and the sour of vinegar to the teeth. It is a destructive habit. It destroys relationship, harmony, prosperity, joy and peace. It is the cause of poverty. People with this nature are unfit for any task. They can't follow instructions and won't deliver a simple errand. They are a liability to business and society - a drain to resources.

They are the exact contrast to a true believer in Jesus. A godly servant is faithful to his master as unto God. To the indolent and sluggish, Apostle Paul exhorts this message: - "Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty. (2 Thessalonians 3:10-13 MSG)

Proverbs 10:24-25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The fear of the wicked will come upon him, And the desire of the righteous will be granted. When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation." (Proverbs 10:24, 25 NKJV)

He affirms that when a person who is rebellious against God harbors fear, it will happen. The storms of destruction come and raze him off. The sand he is standing on is washed off. He has no foundation.

While the person who stands right with God, whose trust is in The Lord Jesus, whose expectations are of heavenly favors, blessings are granted upon him. If ever storms pass his way, he shall not be moved. He stands on solid ground. His foundation is on the rock. Jesus is the chief cornerstone of his faith. When he calls He will answer. He promised, as it is written: "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." (John 14:12-14 NIV)

"To do evil is like sport to a fool, But a man of understanding has wisdom." (Proverbs 10:23 NKJV)

He gives a succinct nature of a fool's act of wickedness. For a fool doing harm is a pleasure and delight. When he does it he has no regard to the pain he inflects on his victim. He has no compassion. He is devoid of reflecting upon the consequence of his action upon his own soul. He has no regard of life abiding in the knowledge of God for the now and for life eternal. That's a nature of being we ought not to be like.

Rather, we ought to be wise and guided with God's word in all our actions day by day. Mindful that what we do, will impact not only our own life but the lives of others around us, in every setting we operate - home, work, business and community. As children of God through faith in Jesus we are to carry His image in our walk. Our goal is to be like Jesus. Let Him be seen when we do. Let Him be heard when we say.

We are His envoys in the world for the sake of those who are lost. In wisdom, we are to behave as one. It is written: "So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:20, 21 NLT)

Proverbs 10:22 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:22 NKJV)

What an amazing assurance of God's Holy Word. To know that what we have comes from The Lord - there is no fear and anxiety. There is peace in sharing and reaching out to sow it for His glory. Or, in other words what we have: The 4Ts - Time, Talent, Treasure and Touch belong to God.

If we acknowledge that, as we must, there is peace and joy in making Him # 1 in our stewardship of the blessings He gives. When we pursue the Lordship of Christ Jesus, blessings will pursue us. Lord Jesus declares this revelation and assurance – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Mathew 6:33-34 NIV)

Proverbs 10:19-21 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom." (Proverbs 10:19-21 NKJV)

We are admonished on proper governance over our mouth and tongue. The tongue has the power of life and death. The words it speaks from the heart in concert with our lips can either lift up or push down.

We are therefore to guard our heart and stock it with words of life that comes from the mouth of God. We are to be careful with the words our tongue speaks. It is written: - "A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell. (James 3:4-6 MSG)

In wisdom, let our words edify, not vilify. "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name." (Hebrews 13:15 NIV)

Proverbs 10:18 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Whoever hides hatred has lying lips, And whoever spreads slander is a fool." (Proverbs 10:18 NKJV)

Reveals more attribute of fools. They are those who have undeniable proof before them and still will not believe. They are not able to determine truth but will prefer to believe a lie.

Once, on top of St Moritz Switzerland, we were in a spot surrounded on every side by the most fantastic snow-capped alpine peaks that I had ever seen. No two of them were alike in color or shape, and I said to myself, "Only a fool could look at this and say there is no God". Only fools, could say that the beauty and the harmony of colors we see around us just happened by accident. Fools can't see the hand of the Almighty Designer. Or, they refuse to say the truth. In their heart hatred is hidden. They lie!

Lying is having no understanding of why we must tell the truth. A person who tells something untrue about someone else and tears down their good name has no understanding and is therefore a fool.

Both the harboring and venting of hatred are wrong and will be accounted for on the day reckoning. God's commands forbid slander, gossips or lies.

It is written: “Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people. “Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is threatened. I am the lord. (Leviticus 19:16 NLT)

Proverbs 10:17 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, But he who refuses correction goes astray." (Proverbs 10:17 NKJV)

He gives contrasting pictures of a wise and a fool's direction in life. Those who are wise, not only receive instruction, but retain it. They do not let it slip through out of carelessness, as most do. Nor let it be stolen by those that would rob them of it. They keep instruction safely, pure and whole. They keep it for their own use, that they may govern their lives by it. They keep it for the benefit of others, that they may instruct them. They are in this realm's way of life and life eternal.

Fools do not only let instruction slip by, but willfully and obstinately reject it when it is offered. They will not be taught because it highlights their faults and deficiencies, especially instruction which carries reproof. They have a particular aversion to repeating the same mistakes again and again expecting a different result - which won't happen. Certainly, they err and have false notions of good and evil. A traveler that missed his exit and gone astray who cannot bear to be told the right way, must err still and err endlessly. He certainly misses the way to life.

Let's meditate on these words from the psalmist: "Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths." (Psalms 119:1-3 NLT)

Proverbs 10:15-16 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; The destruction of the poor is their poverty. The labor of the righteous leads to life, The wages of the wicked to sin." (Proverbs 10:15, 16 NKJV)

As with everything in this world, all the resources we can get hold of, be it our T4s - time, talent, touch and treasure or, wealth, are neutral. These are all under the control of our will, how we view and use them. It can be used for sin or to bless. To a man of God, his wealth is likened to a walled city. It sustains and protects. It empowers prosperity.

It is not God's intention for a person to be poor. Poverty is a choice. When a person chooses not to labor to participate in God's system of seedtime and harvest, the consequence is nothing to bring in the barn at the season of harvest. He who stands right with God and obeys His commands to sow will prosper to live in abundant life and will not be in lack. While the lazy leads to sin and brings self-destruction.

The man of God is blessed to be a blessing. As God promised blessings to Abraham, He affirms the same promise to those who obeys His command by believing in and accepting Jesus his Lord and Savior. It is written - "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. It is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. Proverbs 10:14 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Wise people store up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction." (Proverbs 10:14 NKJV)

He keeps us in the know, the attributes of wise or fool - to help us decide who we should be. We absolutely ought not to be a fool who, by his mouth-

* says ...“There is no God."... (Psalm 14:1 ESV)

* says ... "And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry. But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you,...’” (Luke 12:19-20 ESV) and, who -

* …built his house on the sand. (Matthew 7:26 ESV)

Rather let's allow God to shape us. Let us accept His gift of wisdom. Let wisdom's attributes be manifest in us, then -

* ... our/his tongue speaks justice. (Psalm 37:30 ESV)

* ... we/you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— (I Corinthians 1:30 NKJV)

*...“be like a person who builds a house on solid rock." (Matthew 7:24 NLT)

Yes, let's be a storage of the knowledge of God!...and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.(Ephesians 3:19 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 10:13 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding." (Proverbs 10:13 NKJV)

He affirms that our lips reflect it when we have gone through a series of steps in learning the ways of God. First we are ignorant. Ignorance is not stupidity or folly. It is, not knowing the word of God.

Ignorance is overcome by knowledge. Knowledge is, knowing the word of God. The more you know about God's word, the more knowledgeable you become. Knowledge becomes understanding when we figure out how to apply the knowledge of God's word in a fruitful and meaningful way. The more we figure His word and commands out, the more understanding we have about God's ways. Understanding requires a step of application. Once understanding is applied to our day to day life, then we have wisdom. Wisdom leads us to consciously decide in our hearts to put our trust and faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.

Those who neglect the search for knowledge and wisdom ultimately encounter the wand of chastisement. Let's not wait for the hand of discipline to drop on us. Let's emulate the attitude of the Psalmist as he expressed this prayer: "You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your promise. Teach me good judgment, wise and right discernment, and knowledge, for I have believed (trusted, relied on, and clung to) Your commandments. (Psalm 119:65, 66 AMP)

Proverbs 10:12 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins." (Proverbs 10:12 NKJV)

He gives a pop up alert, when hatred is present, it agitates conflict and discord everywhere you are - firstly in yourself, in your home, in your work, in your business, even in your community, nation and the world - between nations. What's happening in the Middle-East and the Ukraine are borne out of hatred.

This is our cue. Get rid of hatred! Forgive! In 1 Peter chapter 4 verse 8, we read that love covers a multitude of sins, "And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins."

Feuds throughout the ages have been caused by hatred. Sometimes - generations, after generations. Most of the haters do not even know why they hate. Forgiveness is a by-product of love. That is the way to stop all the hate, forgive them and love them.

True love seeks the highest good for another. Lord Jesus gives us this command: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." (John 13:34 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 10:11 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked." (Proverbs 10:11 NKJV)

He shows the base test of the contrasting contents of a heart. One belongs to a person in right standing with God. The other one belongs to a scoffer who rejects things of God. A mocker's mouth reveals the abundance of his heart. Lord Jesus said: "But whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this is what makes a man unclean and defiles [him]. For out of the heart come evil thoughts (reasoning, and disputing and designs) such as murder, adultery, sexual vice, theft, false witnessing, slander, and irreverent speech. (Matthew 15:18, 19 AMP)

For believers, whose faith is in our Lord Jesus and rest in His grace, who loves His commands and His words, He declares these words -'Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:38 ESV)

Proverbs 10:9-10 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed. People who wink at wrong cause trouble, but a bold reproof promotes peace." (Proverbs 10:9, 10 NLT)

He brings to mind Romans chapter 6 verse 4, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." The upright walk is the walk we walk following Jesus. We will neither stumble nor fall, because we have the light of Jesus at our feet to light our way. Even as we fall, being still in the world of roadblocks, we always rise up.

Evil lurks stealthily in the dark. But will be exposed. They hoodwink and undermine you. If you allow to be influenced by them, your sins will find you out and haunt you. Those who have integrity or who live by the creed they believe, exist without fear of some evil work being discovered, while those who are perverse and have secret wickedness will not be able to hide it.

As children of God by faith in Jesus, we are to walk in godly principles and wisdom. Deceivers may use their secret signals on us, but with God's discernment their body language gives them away. The gavel of God's chastisement falls on them. If they receive it, His harvest of peace reigns. As it is written - "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11 ESV)

Proverbs 10:8 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall." (Proverbs 10:8 NKJV)

He reveals the litmus test of being wise - obedient reception and faithful execution of God's commands, while a fool whines on his way to a disastrous plunge. The Amplified Bible puts it this way- "The wise in heart will accept and obey commandments, but the foolish of lips will fall headlong." (Proverbs 10:8 AMP)

God's commandments are not list of noes and don'ts to take away our joy. It is the guidepost on our path of life to keep us safe from dangers that can take away, not just our joy and our peace, but most of all our life, both temporal and eternal. Foolhardiness only brings lamentation and ruin, the place from which God saved us by His only Son dying in our stead. So that the moment we receive Jesus in our life to be our Lord and Savior, He apportions us His grace, His faith and His wisdom. By wisdom we embrace and do His commands. And, by resting in the grace of our Lord, fruit manifests in our life.

Let's meditate upon this passage: "Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:15-17 AMP)

Proverbs 10:6-7 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot." (Proverbs 10:6, 7 NKJV)

He pronounced promises of consecration upon the righteous and malediction upon the wicked. Wickedness speaks of evil, discord, friction, disobedience, rebellion, lie, blasphemy and other negative declarations. It breaks the peace of a nation, neighborhood, home and person's being. It creates an atmosphere of distrust and suspicion. It hinders prosperity. It lusts. It dishonors relationships and tramples the vows of marriage. It leaves in its wake a legacy of lack and destruction. That's a place a child of God not to be.

By wisdom, God called us to a place of favors. Mind full of heavenly things, where peace and rejoicing abides. Faithfulness and trusts are nurtured. Love, relationship and marriage bed are honored. A legacy of righteousness is built. Memory of godliness is established, by renewing of the mind through Christ Jesus in His grace and by His words. In this manner Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words - "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8, 9 NKJV)

Proverbs 10:4-5 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame." (Proverbs 10:4, 5 NKJV)

He reminds us to be in the constant posture of right conviction, readiness and action. Our conviction must be rooted strongly in our faith - God is our source. We have needs, He provides. Access to His provisions is set in the system of seed time and harvest. All we need to do is cooperate with God in the place where we are - in our sowing, in our work, in our business, in our ministry and in our giving.

There was once a businessman who, in the peak of his business, gave out so much of his wealth. Then one day He lost his business. A reporter asked him - what can you say about all those wealth that you gave out and lost? His response was - "I did not lose what I gave. I lost what I kept." That's where a slack hand is a liability. When we eat the seed intended for planting and keep what needs to be given. One must have an open hand ready and quick to action - to help, to give, to plant, to sow, to bless, to comfort, to love. That, will manifest in our life by total faith in Christ Jesus.

In His grace, God has already done His part to supply the great harvests of what we sow. It is written - "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. (2 Corinthians 9:10, 11 NIV)
