Proverbs 13:19 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, But it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil." (Proverbs 13:19 NKJV)

Nothing sweeter than a desire accomplished, which starts with God. He is the source of everything good. Lord Jesus gives this command: “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ALL these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)  Those are wisdom and knowledge of things of God - riches, honor, grace, peace and joy in the fellowship with the Holy Spirit and communion with our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, our soul is quickened and blessed, and be in a state of peace with all humanity - even in a state of turmoil. Scripture says: "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." (Romans 12:18 NIV)

Contentions and disputes become things of the past. It belongs to fools who hold on to evil ways. Who consider it aversion to turn away from wickedness? Fools! The Psalmist declares this warning to fools clutching tight to their wicked ways: "The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with passion. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot." (Psalm 11:5, 6 NIV)

So, let us nurture a desire sweet to our soul: Seek peace, instead of conflict; let Jesus reign, by grace His favors rain! In His Lordship over our lives, we have this assurance and warning: "This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with him, we will also live with him. If we endure hardship, we will reign with him. If we deny him, he will deny us." (2 Timothy 2:11-12 NLT)

And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 13:18 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored."(Proverbs 13:18 NKJV)

He brings to our attention the importance of devoted fondness for correction. It is the power that steers the rudder of life to maintain its course towards the plan of God. Plans to bless and prosper us in all things - material and spiritual, seen and unseen.

Contempt for correction only puts the rudder of life unattended to whirl wildly in every direction wherever the wind of the world blows. Life without correction and discipline of God's holy Word ends up in the drought stricken desert of poverty and ignominy. But, one who loves rebuke steadily cruises to His port of call - a place of honor in the spiritual realm. Any disruption by the pull of turbulent current of the day (like what we are confronted with in such a time as this) is always reset by the hand of correction steadily holding the steering wheel of life.

Yes, by faith in Christ Jesus, we are to hold on the course towards His port of favors and honor. Let's soak ourselves in His refining Word. Let's abide in the constant reproof of His word with open mind and heart, and be firmly settled in knowing that "...grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:17b NIV) His plans for us are good, as it is written: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 13:17 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"A wicked messenger falls into trouble, But a faithful ambassador brings health." (Proverbs 13:17 NKJV)

He puts us in awareness the consequence of the way we execute the task we have been entrusted to do, as shown in this analogy of a wicked messenger and a faithful ambassador. How a messenger delivers his task reveals who he is, who sends him and where he is going. The wicked handles a message of falsehood from the author of lies who sends him which pushes him direct to trouble. A wicked messenger not only puts himself in trouble, but also those who listen to him, as well. His arrival brings strife and unhealthy environment wherever he goes.

But, a faithful ambassador of truth brings peace, joy and hope. His coming establishes a fresh breathe of health and favors. He delivers his master's intention - a life giving good news.

As believers in Jesus, we are His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20). In faith we are sent to fulfill His purpose in us. Not by our own, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, who is with us always, having accepted the Lordship of Christ Jesus in our life. We have been sanctified in truth, as Lord Jesus declared to the Father: "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth." (John 17:17-19 ESV)

Proverbs 13:16 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Every prudent man acts with knowledge, But a fool lays open his folly." (Proverbs 13:16 NKJV)

He is urging us to behave in a well-thought prayerful manner, like a prudent man, in dealing with all aspects of our life's affairs. That is in our vertical relationship with God and horizontal relationship with the people around us (like our family, fellow believers, friends, co-workers, business associates and everyone in our proximity). We ought not to behave like a fool, who flaunts caring no one in what he does. And, who stands proud doing his worst - that is destroying his life and whoever he gets hold to drag with. For him, whether his follies are mindless or premeditated doesn't matter. He is a fool! His habit and body language exposé him.

As believers in Christ, when we accept His Lordship in our life, we are to be prudent and wise in dealing with fools. Most of all, we ought not to mimic their ways. Fools will reap the bad fruits of their evil intentions in a 'boomerang effect', like what happened to Hamman in the book of Esther, as it is written: "So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's wrath was pacified. (Esther 7:10 AMP)

Let's be careful and sow only good like a prudent man does. The scripture warns: "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. (Galatians 6:7 ESV)

Proverbs 13:15 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Good understanding gains favor, But, the way of the unfaithful is hard." (Proverbs 13:15 NKJV)

He affirms that, those who understand the Word of God, whose faith is in our Lord Jesus Christ, gains the blessings of abiding in His grace. The unfaithful continues to live by way of his own “hard” work, under the curse of Adam's disobedience. But, those whose trust is in The Lord, who accepts the sacrifice of Jesus for his sins by faith in Him, would know that he is a new creation. Now he lives in the re-stored garden by the grace of Jesus, and thrives not by his “hard” work. His work now becomes the fruit of favor in God's grace by the power of the Holy Spirit in us who teaches us all things. (John 14:26)

Let's bear the fruit of the spirit by grace. Let's do our part of grace by taking care of God's business like the Philippians, who in faith partnered with Paul in the work for the gospel. In so doing, by grace God supplies all our need. As Apostle Paul exhorts us with his message to the church of Philippi: "And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:15-19 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 13:14 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death." (Proverbs 13:14 NKJV)

He gives us the only GPS route (so to speak) to life, that keeps us from straying into the labyrinth of pathways the devil or the world or ourselves make. The devil's ways are traps to pull us down with him to his end. He comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. The world's ways are skewed which lead us away from God to their idols. They know not of the things of God. They spurned God and en route to the furnace. And, our ways are not His ways; just plain wandering in the wilderness of follies towards destruction.

Yes, the law and teachings of the wise, which is the holy and written Word of God, is our only GPS device for eternal life. As we thread on this road way, life flourishes and gushes like a fountain - a spring from within. We walk shielded. We are saved from the devil's trap. The warped views of the world loses its influence over us. We will be stirred from aimless sleepwalk. And, we know that the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ is in us, as we rest in His grace by FAITH.

As believers in the risen Lord, when we declare and accept Him our Lord and Savior, He resides in our heart. Yes, the law of the wise is in our heart. He is the spring of living water who sustains our life. He frees us from the shackles of sin and of death, as the scripture exhorts us with these words: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1, 2 NIV)

Proverbs 13:13 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"He who despises the word will be destroyed, But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded." (Proverbs 13:13 NKJV)

He puts us in the know - a person does not just stumble into destruction. The state of a crumbling life is not an accident. It is a choice - to reject God and His Words. It is the result of a series of bad decisions and wrong turns. It starts with small ones (as seemingly harmless as 'white lies', they say) and grows larger and larger as it gains momentum towards its state of clutter, which ultimately brings death if not snapped off to turn to God, receive the Lordship of The Lord Jesus Christ by faith and cleave on the counsel of His Words.

Those wrong actions are borne out of rejection of God and disdain of His Words. When God gives us His commands, it is not to give us a list of “Nos” and “Don’ts”. He gives us the BIBLE - 'Basic Instruction Before Living Earth', to prepare and position us for eternal life. His words show us what leads to life and what leads to death.

Despise of His Words keeps a person in the dark which leads to condemnation and judgment. Embrace of His commands in reverent fear brings reward of eternal life. Lord Jesus declared this assurance to the disciples: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (John 6:63 ESV)

Proverbs 13:12 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life." (Proverbs 13:12 NKJV)

He gives us awareness that while we are still in this world, we are susceptible to the emotions of the flesh. We get discouraged when things don't happen as we expect it. We want our hopes to instantly come through. When delays or deferments occur, we panic. Then, we get depressed. But, when it comes through it brings us to great joy, like a tree of life (Which signifies as if forever it gives us fulfillment). This pictures a volatile state of instability. And, that's how it is when God and the counsel of His words are factored out of our way of living.

We must stand on stable ground of His grace by faith in Christ Jesus and be guided by His words, so He can move us from where we are to where He wants us to be - happy, stable, fruitful, and blessed. And, as we delight in Him, the desires of  our heart will come through and be a tree of life to be a blessing for His glory, in Jesus name. Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV)

Proverbs 13:11 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase." (Proverbs 13:11 NKJV)

He is reminding that the system of Seedtime and Harvest is set as our way to prosper. Anything done out of that system is fruitless, specially by deception and fraud. Yes, they who scams and schemes may seem to gain, but it will fly away in a flash. Most often, when those dishonest gains are gone it leaves broken lives behind.

We are to operate in the system with our honest labor and pure intentions, trusting in the mighty hands of God by faith in Christ Jesus. We till the ground. We sow the seeds. We tend to it and wait, knowing that He is God who already did His part to establish the system that can take us to the plentiful harvest - so that we can be blessed to be a blessing.

When we sow, it always produces a harvest. Lord Jesus gives this assurance: “The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4:28-29 ESV)

Proverbs 13:10 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom." (Proverbs 13:10 NKJV)

He warns us about the attitude of arrogant know-it-alls; those who only listens their own foolish banter; and, believes it to be the only worthy opinion - their truth. They have bloated hearts, pompous minds, closed ears and widely opened mouths. They are closed to the good counsel of God's words of TRUTH. Standing ill-advised on the ominous ground of ungodliness, they perversely celebrate what is wrong. They call good evil and evil good. They assert that protecting the unborn babies is wrong and killing them is right. They thrive in chaos and strife. That's how run-away pride works in a person who rejects God, refuses to seek and get hold of wisdom from The Lord's holy and written Word.

The well-advised, evermore, gains wisdom and grows in the knowledge of God through faith in Christ Jesus. He seeks, reflects and listens to the counsel of God's Word of Truth. He is blessed, as it is written: "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night." (Psalm 1:1, 2 ESV)

Yes, he is wise! He is humble to declare: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. ... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever."(Psalms 23:1, 6 NKJV)

Proverbs 13:9 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The light of the righteous rejoices, But the lamp of the wicked will be put out." (Proverbs 13:9 NKJV)

He provides amazing analogy to help us grasp the ways of the righteous and the wicked. 'The lamp of the wicked' signifies that though he defies God, if he chooses to, the wicked can, and has the option to have light. He has the choice to come to God. Surrender to Him; refill the oil of his lamp by the spirit of His word, to brighten its flame so he can see clearly the path he walks on.

But, the sad thing is, in his wickedness, the wicked chooses darkness. He rejects God and His Words. He allows his lamp to run out of light. Yes, it is man's choice to get hold of the light of God like the righteous - who accepts Jesus his Lord and Savior and abides by the light of His word.

Jesus resides in our hearts the instant we welcome Him by faith. His light shines in our hearts as Apostle Paul exhorts with these words: "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. Proverbs 13:8 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke." (Proverbs 13:8 NKJV)

He reminds us with the risks that come along with material possession. Riches not consecrated to God, can be a curse to the one who holds it. Unlike the poor man who does not have to listen to threats, a rich man attracts the attention of those who envy his riches. They would come to steal, to rob and extort ransom. A rich man may be able to temporarily buy his way out of threat of physical harm or death. But still, riches stored on earth for the world to see can inflect fear and anxiety of losing upon the one who possesses it. And it could cause losing one's soul for eternity - specially, if one's focus is on his riches.

Hence, for our peace, Lord Jesus gives us this command: "Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal; For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Proverbs 13:7 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; and one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches." (Proverbs 13:7 NKJV)

"The Message paraphrase puts it this way: A pretentious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life." (Proverbs 13:7 MSG)

He gives a subtle nudge that a showy frontage is an indicator of empty heart. It is a warning light for need of self-examination, to hopefully re-set priorities towards a truly blessed way of living by God's Word. Let’s consider the declaration of the Psalmist, as it is written: “I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws. I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.” (Psalms 119:59-60 NLT)

What does really matter? Let us hurry. It is having the Lordship of Christ Jesus in our life! We are to unapologetically declare His glory before the world. We are to boldly proclaim His words to humanity in our day-to-day lives. Lord Jesus leaves these words of warning: "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”(Mark 8:36-38 ESV)

Proverbs 13:6 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, But wickedness overthrows the sinner." (Proverbs 13:6 NKJV)

He is warning us: the way of wickedness brings no honor, but horror. If a person continues to live in wicked ways, he will wind up in jail; and hell on earth. Wild and sinful ways of living never misses its consequence of disaster. Worst of all, it leads to eternal death. It pushes its victim to plunge into the gorge of destruction. Unaware of the devil's ploy, the sinful mindset wanders to a semblance of happy hour which is just a deceptive prelude to a hellish finale.

But, He reminds us of a way through which is well guarded. A way where we don't carry the weight of sin. The way of the blameless, that is when we step into the path marked by the cross of Jesus, a "great exchange" takes place - our sins for His righteousness. The curse of sin and its power are taken.

God is urging us now, before it's too late, to take the righteous mindset, by accepting Jesus our personal Lord and Savior. Surrender our will to Him. Allow Him to present us righteous before The Father. Our path will be secured. We become the righteousness of God by faith in Jesus, as Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV)

Proverbs 13:5 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"A righteous man hates lying, But a wicked man is loathsome and comes to shame." (Proverbs 13:5 NKJV)

He affirms that a person walking right with God detest lying and any semblance of evil. He walks in the path of grace under the light of truth of the words of the Lord. Knowing that lies shatter the very foundation of every relationship, a person who honors His creator, reflects that in his honesty with the people around him. He glorifies God by the words that he speaks, which cascade through the bond of love to his wife, to his children and to the people who care for him.

But, the loathsome symptom of disgrace comes from a heart infected by deception and immorality. A person who acts in tandem with the wicked has his day of reckoning. He follows his every whim straight to its unpleasant consequences. Yet, God loves him. God loves us all. He sent His only Son to meet us where we're at. We may be broken by lies and schemes, and running away from God. Even so, He sought us. He seeks us. He will seek us.

If we are caught up by lying and wickedness, all we need to do is stop! Stop running! Turn around! Come to Jesus. Surrender to His mercy. He will not put us to shame. He loves us deeply-where nothing can separate us from His love. He receives and exhorts us with the words of assurance He spoke to the adulterous woman. It is written- "Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” (John 8:10, 11 ESV)

Proverbs 13:4 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich." (Proverbs 13:4 NKJV)

All provisions to fill all our legitimate Godly needs for living, as well as, favors to enable us to bless others are available in God's overflowing grace. A diligent person is one who does his part to get access to this amazing gift of God. The key is diligence, by faith in Christ Jesus. Not like a sloth man who just daydreams and expects his wishes will just drop from the sky.

The diligent is one who seeks to know the ways of The Lord. He meditates God's word day and night. He puts God first in His rightful FIRST place. Then, fully dependent upon His grace, trusting in His faithfulness, he cooperates with God in following the system of sowing and reaping.

Fully surrendered to our Heavenly Father, we (who believe in Jesus and do the work) are likened to the farmer in our Lord's parable of the growing seed- "He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4:26-29 NIV)

Let's be diligent, and scatter the seeds. By His grace, God will do His part and take us to the harvest. Apostle Paul exhorts us with this reassuring promise: "He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness." (2 Corinthians 9:10 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!

Proverbs 13:2-3 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence. He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction." (Proverbs 13:2, 3 NKJV)

We are to keep our mouth an open valve of blessings, by pronouncements of faith. Pessimistic and doubtful words can plug the flow of God's favors our way. Often, our negative words hinder our momentum to prosper. The words that our mouth speaks are powerful. It can change a person's destiny, even the course of nation's future.

We will reap well the result of our mouth's firm and unshakable utterance of God's promises. We are warned to guard our mouth. It has power to justify or condemn. Lord Jesus said: "The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment, people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:35-37 ESV)

Let's fill our hearts with The Words of life! It is written: "So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." (John 6:67-69 ESV)

Proverbs 13:1 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke." (Proverbs 13:1 NKJV)

He gives us a simple way to gain wisdom - listen to the voice of experience of our elders, specially our parents. Parents, who love their children, painstakingly instruct them the way to a blessed living better than what they have. Godly parents love their children that they bet their lives to give them a stable and blessed future. It pains them to see their children hopping from one avoidable mistake to another which need not happen (or at least kept at bay) if they listened to the guidance given them.

They want their children to steer clear the pitfalls in life they have gone through, by passing to them the legacy of faith in God and His divine instructions. These instructions when heeded lead to a blessed life filled with God's abundant divine favors for our joy in this journey of life, and to glorify God in heaven. Yes, living for God's glory is our ultimate mission in this life. We are not to behave like a cynic or a scoffer, who rejects godly instruction, acts like he can do it by himself. And, then unnecessarily miss the true meaning of living.

We are to stay wise, as children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, listen to godly counsels and do the instructions we are given that come from the holy and written Word of God.  Apostle Paul affirmed that in this passage: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17 NIV)

Proverbs 12:28 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death."(Proverbs 12:28 NKJV)

He points the direction of our faith upon our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him, God gives us victory over death. It is written: "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."(1 Corinthians 15:54-57)

He gives us abounding life. He declared - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10 ESV)

The Lord Jesus Christ, as we receive His Lordship, is the only way. He is our righteousness, by His grace. It's not about us. We can never be righteous by works of self-effort. Not even by 'our' so called “good works”. God's holy and written word says: "As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;""

Hence, Apostle Paul reminds in his exhortations to the Roman believers: "Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God. This happened through our Lord Jesus Christ, who through our faith has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory." (Romans 5:1, 2 NCV)

Proverbs 12:27 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, But diligence is man’s precious possession." (Proverbs 12:27 NKJV)

He depicts a sickening picture of a sloth to stir us. A person who brings home a game he took from hunting, which indicates that what he has taken is somebody's catch, not his. He being a sloth, then leaves the catch to rot. That's the typical nature of the lazy, not only that they take someone else's catch, they depend on everything from somebody else to do everything for them.

They also, waste a lot - not only provisions and resources, but also opportunities to catch their own game. Just like those dependent on handouts, who waste what they receive on destructive habits and vices. That's the indolent way, one who chooses to turn away and disconnects from God.

The diligent, a person connected with God through grace by faith in Christ Jesus, is one who takes due care of his precious possession. He thrives and bears fruits every season wherever he goes. For him, geographic location, rain or shine, season or out of season, does not matter, as long as his outreached hand connects with the hand of God. His primary order of business is abiding in the vine, as it is written and he understands when Lord Jesus said: "I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. (John 15:5 AMP)

Proverbs 12:26 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray." (Proverbs 12:26 NKJV)

He urged us with a warning to choose our friends with due diligence, to safeguard right living in the eyes of God. There is danger if we just discriminately expose ourselves closely to the wrong crowd of the world.

The trajectory of our life can be influenced by the kind of people we hang out with. Care is paramount in choosing who we merge our lives with in fellowship of brotherhood and friendship. As friends, they can either, elevate or deprecate, build up or bring down, our life. Their inputs can knowingly or unknowingly factor into our day-to-day life’s decisions and actions. If their views are warp and ungodly, we could end up making warp decisions that lead us to destruction.

As believers in Christ resting in His grace, we are to love the ones that Jesus loves - that's the world! But, not to equally yoke our destiny with them, as it is written: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismatched alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? (2 Corinthians 6:14, 15 AMP)

Apostle Paul further exhorts with these words- "When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. (1 Corinthians 5:9-11 NLT)

Proverbs 12:25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad." (Proverbs 12:25 NKJV)

He reminds us that negative thoughts - real or unreal, are harmful to physical and spiritual health. Too much thinking of unpleasant matters and things known or not, imagined to come, trigger doubt. Then, it snowballs to fear and panic. Constant panic gives birth to what the world calls a ‘clinical depression’ illness. It all starts in the mind. That's where the battle is fought.

The attention of the mind is Satan's primary strategic target. He maneuvers to hit our mind with barrages of negative infomercials, by apps and downloads through our ears and eyes, wherever we go. He has tools all around us if we are not careful of our daily rounds in life. He knows, the moment he gets in our mind, he has access to our heart. If the seed of his negative inputs are sown, it germinates in the heart. Then it gives birth to anxiety. He got you!

We have to be careful with our exposure positioning. Ensure to screen the doorways of our mind and to guard our heart. As it is written, "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flows the springs of life. (Proverbs 4:23 ESV)

As children of God by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, Apostle Paul exhorts all of us, who have a personal relationship with Him - to soak in things that are good, with these words- "Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Proverbs 12:24 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor." (Proverbs 12:24 NKJV)

He affirms the system of cause and effect: diligence=reward, but laziness=penalty. Each and every person who steps into this earth, God has created to inhabit, is equipped with the right resources to have dominion over it. God gave that assignment to Adam and Eve when He said - "So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female. God blessed them and said, “Have many children and grow in number. Fill the earth and be its master. Rule over the fish in the sea and over the birds in the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27, 28 NCV)

We all have that same mandate from God. The only difference is how we respond to the call. The diligent who takes his mantle with persistent eagerness to work and cooperate with God, will rule. The indolent, who takes lifting a finger as forced labor and chooses to be static, is a person in lack. He is penalized. Even the small portion he has is taken away from him. As it is written in our Lord's parable of the talents, in regard to the lazy servant: "But his master answered him, ‘you wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:26-30 ESV)

As children of God by grace through faith is Christ Jesus, Apostle Paul exhorts us with these words: "So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest." (Galatians 6:9 GNB)

Proverbs 12:23 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"A prudent man conceals knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness." (Proverbs 12:23 NKJV)

We are given a true mark of a person possessing genuine knowledge of truth - he/she is neither boastful nor showy. Which brings to mind the expression: 'Still waters run deep'. Yes indeed, as people's experience and knowledge get deeper, they become more mature and calm. While those who are not, advertise a lot their tiny minds like a fool, as a shallow water running wild with a lot of noise and foam. They blabber! They talk before thinking, mostly without even thinking what they say.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we possess the knowledge of truth. We are to behave like one. Not like fools who come pretending godliness with a lot of commotion, as Apostle Paul warned in his letter to Timothy: "But understand this that, in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:1-7 ESV)

We are to avoid fools. The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.' (Psalms 14:1a NIV) And, most all, be not like them, by surrendering our lives to Christ Jesus and walking in His grace. Apostle Peter counsels us with these words: “You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to Him, both now and forever! Amen.” (2 Peter 3:17-18 NLT)

Proverbs 12:22 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight." (Proverbs 12:22 NKJV)

This verse from proverbs, sounds light and plain, but its detrimental impact to hinder blessings for us is serious. Or, its profound contribution to our prosperity is supernatural. There is power in the words that come out of our lips. In our careless banter, our words can negate against our hopes and prosperity. Praise is what should come out of our lips glorifying God.

Instead of lies, let us take the way of The Truth. Give honor to our Lord as the psalmist proclaim: “Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.” (Psalm 76:11-13 NLT)

Let our lips, therefore, declare in Jesus name..."Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!" (Luke 2:14 ESV)

Proverbs 12:21 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"No grave trouble will overtake the righteous, But the wicked shall be filled with evil." (Proverbs 12:21 NKJV)

He assures us that standing right in His eyes - which is by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we are protected. We are established strong on solid ground. Even as there are storms and troubles befalling, none ever overtake us - even ‘perfect storms’. He holds us in the palm of His mighty hands.

While, wickedness is a life filled with evil days. Its constant agitation and turmoil are masked in the facade of fun and wild pleasures of the world. Hidden under the guile of worldly possessions, the wicked is devoid of eternal hope. Unless he turns from his ways, come to God and accept Jesus as his Savior and Lord.

As children of God, made righteous in His sight by the blood of Jesus, we are to encamp in the shelter of the Most High. He protects and saves us. He saved David, as it is written: "He said, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. Proverbs 12:19-20 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The truthful lip shall be established forever, But a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy." (Proverbs 12:19, 20 NKJV)

He reminds us to keep and walk in the teachings of our Lord Jesus, as it is written: "So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, if you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. (John 8:31,32 AMP).

Deception is the devil's chain that binds us with his yoke of curse. But, the truth sets us forever free. We are counseled by peace. We have joy. We eagerly lean towards the future, as apostle Paul declared in his greetings - "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Proverbs 12:17-18 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health." (Proverbs 12:17, 18 NKJV)

He who speaks truth has it in his heart. The scriptures declare: Jesus is the Truth. A person standing right with God always speaks truth because he accepts Jesus in his heart. It is written in Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."(KJV)

Words can hurt like piercing of a sword. We are to be sober. Be in control what to fill our hearts with. The choice is between righteousness which brings out words that build up, and wickedness which spills out words that destroy. The tongue is like a weapon. It can destroy, or build up, by the words it speaks. The tongue is evil prone until it is totally surrendered to God, and then it can be like a healing balm. We are warned, as it is written - "From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. (James 3:10 ESV)

Proverbs 12:15-16 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise. A fool’s wrath is known at once, But a prudent man covers shame.: (Proverbs 12:15, 16 NKJV)

He describes two types of fools. First is a self-centered person, in 2Timothy 3:2 "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,"

These are people who will not listen to good counsel. They think the world revolves around them. This passage warns that, this will be the condition of the people of the world in the end times. Lucifer had this attitude in heaven and God threw him out. Secular humanism and many modern leaders of even some churches are teaching that man can become god. To think too highly of themselves put them in the category of fools, according to Apostle Paul. We must heed the counsel of God to be wise. His counsel is the Holy Bible. Wise counsels teach the Bible ways.

Another type of fool is one having a "short temper". Someone lacking in understanding (a fool) gets mad before he even knows what the issue is. We are warned in the Bible not to get angry without a cause and to not let the sun go down on our anger. A prudent and careful man thinks it out before reacting. He listens and weighs. He subdues emotional outburst and is a model of self-control. He can ignore an insult with grace and prayer. It is written: "Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who insult you."(Luke 6:28 GW)

"A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, And the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him." (Proverbs 12:14 NKJV)

He assures us, when the reverent and grateful proclamation of our mouth of God's sovereignty rhythms with the work of our hands, a pleasant reward is rendered unto us. We must be aware our lips take its cue from what is rooted in our heart. Our heart is filled through our mind by what we hear and what we see.

It is important that what we hear and what we see are filtered by the Word of God. That is to have a regular intake of His Words day by day like the air we breathe. In so doing, the work of our hands will reflect His will for us. We will be satisfied with the good fruits of our labors. Then, with our mouth, to Him Jesus our Lord who alone is worthy, we declare honor and glory with thanksgiving. The scriptures exhort us with these words: "Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name. Do not neglect to do good, and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. (Hebrews 13:15, 16 ESV)

Proverbs 12:13 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God says...

"The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, But the righteous will come through trouble." (Proverbs 12:13 NKJV)

This brings to light the saying: 'Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people." Yes, the mediocre minds of the wicked let their lips run wild with expose's to ruin the dignity and life of the people they talk about. Revelation about the lives of others whether true or real or false or unreal, is nobody's business. Destructive words, lies and false representations against someone are abomination to God.

He hates any malicious devices of the heart. "There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV)

But let the wicked beware, as a child of God in Christ Jesus by faith in Him, we are covered. We will make it through. Whatever is intended for evil, God is able to turn it out for good to those who trust Him. As Joseph experienced, he declared to his brothers, who once attempted to kill him and succeeded to sell him to slavery in Egypt: "As for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive, as they are this day. (Genesis 50:20 AMP)
