The Gospel of John 11:35 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Jesus wept.” (John 11:35 KJV).

This verse, one of the two shortest Bible verses, conveys the message that the Lord Jesus Christ was deeply grieved. It shows His humanity. Expressing His genuine emotion for those He loved, He did not scream and yell like the mourners. The Lord Jesus did not grieve for the death of Lazarus. He grieved because of the delusions of those around Him. The view of those mourners was that there's no more hope for Lazarus. For them, Lazarus had no alternative but to remain dead in the grave.

The Lord Jesus Christ wept in several occasions. He wept over Jerusalem's future destruction (Luke 19:41-44) and in the garden of Gethsemane, for the burden of saving the sin of mankind (Matthew 26:36-46). His weeping is evidence of His genuine humanity and compassion for all humanity who are like sheep without a shepherd. He is God who put on flesh to live among us in the world He so loved. He felt the pain of Martha and Mary.

As our perfect mediator before God, the risen Lord Jesus Christ revealed through Apostle Paul to remind us. It is written: “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:5-6 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
