When God Says …

“The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.” (John 12:17-19 KJV).

Brethren, friends and all who stumble on these reflection, these reminders are for you and I, that we must not be deceived like these religious Jews. They've, unfortunately, been brainwashed so deeply in their religious rituals of customs, traditions and doctrines borrowed from pagan world. It blinded them from the truth - God incarnate, in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, is in their midst! They failed to recognize Him. And, many knowingly refused to recognize. They purposely reject Him though now they know who He is by the works He has done.

Here is the reality. Those who oppose the Lord Jesus lost! God's will be done, no matter! While in utterance of desperation, the religious enemies of the Lord, unbeknownst to them, affirm the will and the work of God as they proclaim: "Look, everyone has gone after him!" Yes, those who witness the resurrection of Lazarus spread their testimony to those attending the Passover observance. Little did these religious people know that their plan to stop the Lord will end up handing Him the ultimate victory in fulfilling the mission He came for. When the Lord is crucified and lifted up on the cross, He fulfills God's will. When He rises from death, He conquers those opposed to God's will and calls all people seeking God to himself through the message and triumph of grace on the cross. He will accomplish salvation of the world including those who rejected Him. Victory is ours by faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer.

So now, it is all up to us! The ball is in our court, so to speak. We are given the choice what to do - receive or reject. With the benefit of hindsight, it's time to get out of the snare of religion and the trappings of world. Let us always consider these words deeply: “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:8-9 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
