The Gospel of John 11:36-37 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

““Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?” (John 11:36-37 KJV)

With some religious Jews readily available, Satan never fails to distort any good thing by corrupting it. We shouldn't be surprised that he would try to distort the Lord's genuine love for Lazarus, using his religious minions, to cast doubt on why he did not show up to prevent him from dying. Throwing in statements like: "He could heal folks, so why didn't he heal him? He could have stopped all this mourning, so why didn't he?"

Not firmly settled of the Lord's Words of truth, the evil one can also tempt us to ask those questions about the Lord's intentions for us. Satan steers our minds to the questions of uncertainties, trying to make us doubt of His love for us. But, we must not let the Devil steal God's love for us in our moments of shock, loss and pain. We know that He is always for us. He showed that when He suffered and died in the most horrible way of hanging on the cross for us.

So, while we may not have the answer to our "Whys?", we don't let that keep us from the right answer to our "Who?" question. The Lord Jesus Christ is our answer! He is our hope! He redeemed us! We know that because He showed His love for us by dying in our stead. Nothing can rob those nail scars on His hands from God's triumphant message to us: "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved." (Ephesians 2:4-5).

As some of the Jews recognized saying: "Behold how he loved him!", we must stand strong on this undeniable truth. Being children of our Most High God by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, we are His beloved. His holy and written Words remind: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:18-19 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
